    Default electrical upgrades/problems

So I've been thinking alot about the electrical system in my evo and how I can simplify/improve it.
first of all im contemplating relocating the battery for weight distribution
my major question is anyone running a bigger/modified alternator?
are there any other ways to upgrade the electrical system while shaving weight?

Also with the fuseable link on the positive terminal...I would assume it can be deleted by combining the cables on the actual battery post. Is this correct because I had one go bad once and my car went haywire without it

If I remember correctly, Dave has a high amp alternator on the Bish.

There's a lot of guys copying the Evo x methods and using their parts to relocate it to the trunk. If you want to save weight how much are we talking? You want a fuly gutted track car with no working windows and no function of the dash other than the backlighting or just want to shave a few lbs? Here's a link to a thread I've been eyeing very closely and they talk of shaving a good 25-30 lbs just in unusable wiring alone. The guy doing it is EvoIXMR and I could shoot him a pm if you would like more info on it.

Haha definitely not gutted, im currently in the process like david and chris of removing wiring and alot of weight under the dash. The battery is most likely going behind the glove box or under the passenger seat and ill be doing some other tricks I've learned from these guys as well.

The main source of weight under the dash is the heater and a/c crap. Then you have the 2 steering column brackets, airbags (would not recommend this), and the dash support beam that runs along the passenger side. Lots of work and hopefully everything you do is reversible in case you change your mind down the road.

All of that's already done minus airbags.

Is the model you use the LFX36L3-BS12? Or is there another one that comes in the size of the PC @ 550 cca?

Looking at that battery, what did you use for the battery posts? I think I read on the OTHER forum that you made some or something. The OEM cables won't work with the screw in type posts? I appreciate the information.
