Default Jeff Bush/English Racing 2011 High Lites

I figure Id should share some high lites of my race season this year, The platform is an English racing 2.0 motor, A devastating Metro Auto trans, FP HTA105 turbo and all coupled together with ETS ingenuity. I'm very proud of what little time it took for this car to become what it is today, The fastest AWD Auto Mitsubishi. I'm still perfecting on my current platform and I can see this thing dipping into the 7's quite possibly this next season. The Able team is always pushing just as hard,, so I expect them to be making big numbers as well. I did have a crazy time slip this last year as well, WE all know its crap but I had a .6x 60ft, and a 7.86@165 1/4mile.

There many others with exciting times but we'd be here all day. My 2011 Shoot Out was amazing and fun but with mechanical issues I could only run 8.8's with those issues. 2012 to be bigger and BETTER. enjoy

This car and Lucas's little auto 68hta car have had more outsourcing auto swap parts for the past month! Someone's gotta give that little 10.0 car some competition at the shootout next year! Hopefully you guys bring both cars again to the shootout next year, it was a pleasure talking with you and Lucas about weight since we're all such weight weinies haha! Great job on the car and good luck in 2012!

Dave that's awesome, I'm interested in the combo you choose. I know you keep close contact with Aaron so if you need ideas feel free to ask. Luke's lol auto car did break into the 9's at the end last season but this isn't a level we want the car at. So its gonna be slowed down. For those interested in building a sub 10 sec hat68 car think real simple combo and get that pig light.

Thanks Jeff. My 1g auto project, the honest plans for it right now are 8.90's, that's it. I've got caught up in chasing the records so many/too many times. I want to go back in time a bit and develop some 1g parts that we never did. In this case some auto trans and converter stuff, forward facing turbo kits with front mount intercooler kits to go along with it. No telling what else, would love to see more of the cars come back and race. Who knows, eventually we may try to turn it up and run real fast with you but that is not our intention for now, fast/reliable and consistent high 8's is all I want and I don't think that will be as simple as it sounds. Aaron and I are talking a lot and he's been a great help. It's sure nice working together instead of the alternative.

Well this great news to hear. I still have the my first DSM that is also an auto " Was the first Auto in the 10" for over decade now. Everyday I thing about rebuilding it and selling off my standing mile car

I like where this is going! Although I will never be an auto guy, the potential for new 1g parts is encouraging. Looking forward to the build David.

Jeff, awesome job with your car this season! The auto cars are very impressive.

Thanks Dave Definitely beats the alternative. Getting more parts for 1G and 2G would be awesome. Punishment racing is the only company making turbo kits that I am aware of. Knowing what we know today vs 95, especially with the auto, is going to make $400 Auto shells even hard to find now

    I cant wait...lol

I know this may sound weird but chasing records is not something I always wanted to do, it just kinda happened that way. I keep finding ways to improve my combo making the car faster on less power. Tthis next season I'm concentrating more on 1/8th mile racing. My goals here are 5.0-5.1 @138-140 mph, next seasons changes may just get me there.

Great to see Dsm's getting back into the spot light!! I got into my project right after the 2010 shootout and got crazy about that project ever since then. Seeing guys getting back into the roots just makes things more interesting! I believe that there is still plenty of untapped territory with our good ol dsm's

Noticed you signature and was wondering. What is your ignition timing at at 44 psi of boost? Iknow the norm is that people are going backward as they are finally figuring out that, the timing being very high at all is making these engines push head gaskets... Thanks in advance..... If it a big secret, you dont have to answer the question.,JoeL.

Low. Like 92octane pumpgas at 25psi almost (well least based on Evo numbers). Timing and compression were irrelevant to most of our HG problems. Backpressure is a far worse enemy.

This is an awesome and exciting thread. The autos are proving to be amazing for sure. Can't wait for this upcoming year to see what you guys can do with them!
"it doesn't give anyone the right to trash the room, trash the property, climb on their roof, ride garbage cans down their stairs, take a shit in their pool, do burn outs in their parking lot, change the lettering on their signs, break bottles in their parking lots, pull your engines and leave anti freeze and oil in their lot, do burnouts on the room carpet with pocket bikes or any of the other destructive fucking idiotic shit that has happened over the years.

    GROW THE FUCK UP"

My goal for this season is running low 5's in the 1/8th, low being 5.0-5.1 at around 142-5 mph. I currently run 5.3's @ 135ish so I'm not far from the mark but picking up .3ths in the 1/8th is a real bitch. I know my car has it in it and this season may be the one where a AWD DSM will find it's way into the 7's on "stock" suspension configuration and still be on gas. Big things are going on starting this week for the drag queen so I'll keep you posted on progress.
