Dude, you have no idea how much time i have into it.. It started out as a salvage certificate neon that i purchased for 725$. Rebuilt it the old school way ( by hand) and had the whole car repainted and it also has ghost stripes now..
I had erick @ asp turbo tune it, and we broke the old record of 25x whp on stock internals.. I now hold the record for highest hp on a stock neon bottom end.. I ended up making 300whp on the stock bottom end on 12lbs.

When we got these readings on the dyno, the car wasnt fully tuned, he let off at 7k instead of 7600, and the clutch was slipping like crazy ( its a stock neon clutch, its designed for 132hp, what do you expect haha) Overall, we have reason to believe that the numbers would have been easily in the 320whp range if the clutch factor wasnt there..

Not too bad for stock internals. Now its getting a fully built motor and im going to be running the 20g to its full potential( 24-28 psi) Hopefully this will get me into the 400+ whp range until i can afford a bigger turbo.

if you were on the neon forums you would understand why.. Everybody and their mother on those sites has an srt motor. Srt motors are a joke anyways. Like i said, i made 300whp on stock internals on 12psi and my buddy made 250whp on 18psi on his srt..
The same kid actually upgraded to a gt307r and he was on 12lbs and i was on 14lbs and we were equal with eachother.

So your saying 250-300hp is better than the countless guys making 400-500hp on stock 2.4l srt-4 motors? I'm good friends with Eric (erabbit23) and his car made a ton of power on a stock block, I can't exactly remember how much exactly but it was definitely in the upper 400-500hp range. Your comparison between your motor at xpsi vs. an srt motor at xpsi is irrelevant unless both turbos were the same, not to mention what kind of tune is on each car. 20psi on a 37r vs 20psi on a stock srt4 turbo are going to be quite a bit different in regards to horsepower numbers. I'm not trying to be a dick, just shedding some light because there is quite a bit of misinformation here.

well, i have alot higher compression than an srt motor, plus i rev really high. Im like a honda haha. My rev limiter on stock internals was 8k lol

Im not saying my car is amazing or stupid fast, but for being on stock internals, it was stupid fast. It lost traction a few times at 80+mph.
Im not really comparing my setup to a fully built neon like his as it doesnt count. I was more or less referring to what most people do to srt's ( intake, exhaust, bov, cams, etc..)

And as far as the power on a stock block, what i meant by this, was for being a base model 132hp weekwacker motor, it was holding its own on the track and was holding some rediculous power..

I am going to back Cody up that the 2.0 Neon engine can make some good power. Hey Farook, That is the same engine in Rob's blue shelby charger that goes mid tens all the time. Now is it any better then a srt4 engine. Fuck I don't know. But he boosted what he has. Now get out of the mans thread with all your BS.
Do you own a EVO? No I do not. Then what the hell are you doing here!

Yeah, none of them have exhausts hahahaha.
No, i didnt blow it up, i simply got bored with it. Its now under the knife in my heated garage until spring. Beginning plans are to build the motor with the help of craig martinelli ( previously worked for hahn and was part owner of chillfactory) and then, its getting a huge turbo, nitrous, and some other goodies. Turbo will probably be the pte 5557.

your buddy made 250whp on a stock turbo at 18psi then he fails........ As for the comment of the srt motors are a joke....... I made 523whp on a stock motor in my car. A buddy of mine made 550whp and ran a 10.81@132 on a bone stock motor and cylinder head. Comparing a Neon 2.0 motor to a SRT-4 2.4 is whats the joke.

O, dont get me wrong, there awsome motors, But im a sohc for life kinda guy. I know erick from asp has a 2.0 like mine and its 700hp. The sohc is alot better than people give it credit for. I do know the srt's hold stupid amounts of power on stock internals also, I was actually contemplating a 2.4 sohc motor with an srt bottom end..

I was talking stock for stock needle dick! He said the srt4 motors were a joke when frankly 250-300hp is a joke honestly. That's what an srt4 basically makes stock with a couple bolt ons. Wasnt trying to clutter up the thread with jabs at the OP, just clearing the air. Speaking of Shelby's, let's take yours out for a cruise this weekend!! Or maybe the talon!
