08' MR with Buschur Stage 1. 17k sunny day miles, never launched. Happened over the summer once on 100+ degree day, then in the fall at a drivers ed day 3 laps in (oil change just done, coolant original and looked good). When turbo engaged, didn't matter if wot or just mild boost, SST would bounce around higher gears then just say '6th' gear but completely disengage. Coast to a stop, turn car off then on and you could drive OK if you didn't spool the turbo hard.
Drivers Ed was at porsche day so a porsche tuner pulled the 8 or so codes and cleaned the maf and another sensor but the evom website pointed the same symptoms and codes to the SST Fluid. Last week drained the SST fluid and it was burnt black, filter was gummed up, and a bunch of metal shavings in the fluids. Porsche tuner said bad looking with the metal shavings, out of his expertise, and send to dealership for warranty work.
Some people on evom say metal shavings are just from the break-in period, any experience on this???
Should I set to stock and flatbed it to the dealer with old burnt sst fluid or should I just flush with new sst fluid and see if the codes go away???
I'm not worried about $ getting the car retuned and mods put back on, but rather the expensive SST tranny. Thanks and love the tune, was sooo much smoother than stock.
