All old bushings have now been removed and tossed into the trash can.
Both knuckles, cleaned, gridded out a bit to achieve ABS ring clearance and sand blasted along with the upper A-arms and mounting brackets.
All needed bolts/nuts sand blasted and tumbled are now ready for zinc plating and polishing.
The A-arms, brackets and knuckles now ready to be taped off, plugged and powered coated mirror black.
Rear end diff. housing and drive shafts cleaned and painted.

Come on get me that subframe!

Picked up a descent used 2G Seibon carbon fiber hood.

Still have plenty to do, powder knuckles , A-arms, arm brackets and install all those bushings.
Also gotta find a good route under the car for the fuel lines.
Locating and making a mounting bracket for the pump and filter. Locate a good spot in the car for the pump speed controller and began wiring it.

When the frame gets here gotta mount brackets for the ABS sensor lines and sway bars. After that take it to indy powder coat for the coating since its too big for the shops oven.

I'd like to have the sub frame in my hands so I'll know exactly where the fuel lines need to go and miss all the stuff.

    This week has been crazy, getting ready for a new national certification test, so I only had time to clean and zinc the suspension hardware;

Those polyurethane bushings are a nightmare to install, considering I'm doing with out the proper installation tool kit, having to fab up the installing bushing pre-sliders is a challenge all unto it self. The good news is I managed to have 5 of 12 completed today.

And don't even ask me about the ABS system wiring mounting points or sway bar brackets that are not part of the kit.

I guess they only want the car to go at a straight line, eliminating the rear sway bars and do away with the ABS system all together.

Refuse to do that and pressing on as best I can!

    Pics soon!

Damn that sounds like a pain in the ass but the weight savings should pay off in the end

I don't think it was designed with weight savings in mind. I remember reading somewhere it was maybe less than 15lb difference, but I could be wrong. If your looking for straight weight savings you're better off with doing brakeman brakes. I saved like 40lbs just with the front kit.

It's just another trick piece installed on my car to make it a one of a kind hot rod built to my taste.
Weight savings is a bonus but I'm not seriously trying to loose a bunch, it's a byproduct of installing their trick sub-frame on the car.
Don't get me wrong light is fast!
It's main function is to help keep the rear diff in place and eliminate any flexing during launches, which never hurts.
Here is a shoot with all the bushings completed so far.

Then you now know exactly what to do and stuff should come apart a bit easier.

When I bought my wife a new SUV last year, the first week I had it it was in the drive way, up on jack stands while I was loosing all the key maintenance/replacement bolts and nuts, dabbing some anti-seize on them and reinstalling. I also painted the entire undercarriage with rust-oleum paint and used Eastwood's internal frame coating kit in all the frame rails, I bet my neighbors thought I was nuts.

Was just planing for the future.
