Rant: Decline of the DSM community.
Just needed to get this off my chest. I use to love the DSM community people selling each other parts for less than they were worth just to help a fellow dsmer out. Gone are the days of treating other people in the community with respect. Twice now I have sold parts for considerably less than they were worth only to have the person the part was sold to come back and try to claim the part wasn't the condition I said when selling. Those that have dealt with me know I price stuff very very reasonable and most the time considerably less than its worth, and sell only good usable parts.
This story starts with selling an assembled bottom end with new BS elim kit, 2g pistons on 1g big rods, new front case, and new gaskets for the lower end. I sold this for $150 + shipping. The guy upon getting it tells me that there is a bunch of stuff wrong and he won't be able to use it and wants me to send him a refund and he will send me the block back. Well first thing I ask for pictures. Once this is asked all the sudden the block is ok and everything is fine.
Then just a few days ago i sold a head for $100 shipped (it cost $35 to ship) that had the valve seals replaced, newer lifters, and had been tanked and cleaned up real nice. Well I get an email last night saying that the cam gear is broke, valves are bent and burned, and deep scratches on the surface of the head, and cracks between the combustion chambers. I instantly call bullshit and have him send me pictures. In the pictures the head is clearly caked in grease and oil. (odd considering mine had been tanked).
Use to be people were honest and didn't try to get something for free.
Anyone else have this experience recently with the dsm community?
