    Default 900 miles on new EVO X and some issues...any help?

    It's been a while since I posted on here, mainly because my gsx went to hell. So I bought a new EVO two weeks ago and I have some issues and I was wondering if anyone had these problems.

    at 900 a wierd sound can be heard in lower rpms, like a whining sound, almost sounds like when other cars I used to have had power steering issues and the pump would make a wierd sound when I turned the wheel. This sound happens all the time in lower rpms once the car warms up. It does it when the car is not in gear and the car is in neutral as well. The sound comes from the passenger side of the car.

    Also there is a wierd clinking sound most of the time when the car goes from sitting into reverse, and then another when you put the car from reverse into first. It's not just when you shift into these gears you have to move a couple feet and then it makes the sound.

    Any thoughts, it's going in on Friday to the dealer to get checked out.

    The sound is just the tcase...my 8 tcase does the same thing even after before built. As for the clunking im not sure...maybe david will chime in as he had a X for a while before he remembered that the ct9a platform is where its really at haha just kidding

    It's at the dealer now. I did some research on it and the reverse to first gear sounds are normal.

    The sound I showed from you tube people claim has something to do with the power steering unit in these cars.

    Just alittle pissed that the answer could be "it's just a sound the car makes after it is broken in." Ok cool so a $35,000 car is not annoying for only 900 miles of it's life. Perfect.

    I don't mind the loud noises it makes, just this noise is fucking borderline embarrassing.

    Haha well that's like having squeaky brakes when you're running "performance" pads...embarrassing but it does the job
