Default Some photos over the last couple months..

I've been chasing lightning a lot lately. I have a bunch more good ones but I need to upload yet.

All can be seen here... http://www.melangeprojekt.com/blog

From July 4th. This is on W67th, an old Italian neighborhood. The entire day is a big party there. They close the streets off themselves, live bands, kegs, all kinds of festivities. The cops don't even bother coming anymore. After the Cleveland fireworks show is over they tied together 14 of those 10,000 firecracker rolls and stung them down the center of the street. Everyone set up there fireworks along each side of the street and the firecracker served as a timer to light your stuff off. A couple random people were tossing 1/4 sticks into the middle of the street for an extra boom too. It was nuts! I sat hunkered down right in the middle of it and was getting showered in sparks. A couple times people behind me were brushing shit off of my backpack that was still on fire. The guy in the photo was at the end of the line and had the biggest show. He was a ripped dude and stood there shirtless next to his display the entire time with his hands up in the air. It was cool but I bet he regretted it the following day.

These are all from the same night, 8/9/2011.

This one is cool, but it's a huge picture! An overlay of all the big lightning strikes that night.

    Thanks and go ahead.

I never heard of the lightning trigger until last week. Going to have too look into them. They're just continual long exposure shots. I've spent enough time out there this summer and kind of caught onto some patterns. I've been getting luckier as the summer has progressed.

I submitted the 3rd picture of the two lightning bolts into a photo contest of downtown Cleveland. Out of 1600 photos entered it made it into the top 20 and is going to be on display at the Old Stone gallery on Public Square all month. Thought that was pretty cool since I've never entered in anything like that before.

Awesome pictures Ron! I was expecting to see some of your amazing fab work and was surprised to see your incredible lighting shots, I have always loved watching inclement weather, but have never photographed anything myself. You are very talented. I also checked out your blog and really like your two quotes -

Do what you love. Follow the fellow that follows the dream.

I feel like my life has really been in a rut lately, and need some inspiration.
