a quick update and story for everyone.
First thing up, are my usual ricer mods. I am getting tired of repainting my cage everytime I get into the car. So I picked up these bar protectors . They are made of real carbon fiber, and basically snap onto the rollcage. That way your paint is protected and it gives the roll bar a nice touch in my opinion
Story Time ... A track story.
Yesterday we all proceeded to spend a perfect sunday ( weather wise) at the track of mid michigan. 77 degrees, 60 % humidity , and a bunch of big tire cars at the track.
After we unload the car.. I go ahead and make my first pass to shake up the cob webs and blow dust off. Since it is the first pass of the season...
which resulted in a 12.00 @ 141 mph. During the pass, the car was straight as an arrow, no tire shake up top and the converter seems to be doing alright.
After about an hour or so, I wanted to make another pass, because the Heads up tournament was about to begin, and I would consequently have to wait for a while to get my turn to run..
Do a half ass burn out.. while hitting the nitrous. Pull up to the tree, hit the Nitrous.. and The car starts pulling forward ( the car was creeping through.. because I couldn't push the brake pedal down any harder)... AHH to hell with it .. I kept telling myself, Just go ahead.. This time I let it have it.. for a moment there I thought my foot was going to go through the floor.. The pass felt good... reallll good .. it was one of those passes, where I just knew that the time would be a good one.
As I turn around the car stalls.. wtf ... try to start it up but nothing.. Now jeremy and scott ( 3kgt owner.) where at the bottom end of the track because the 3000 had broken, so they were waiting for a tow truck. As they open my hood.. they could hear that my nitrous was STILL ON, The fucking nitrous solenoid was stuck open... URGGGGGGGHHH.. as we scrable to shut everything off,,, and then cycle the engine..to evacuate all the nitrous out of the engine... we hear the worst noise that any car enthusiast wants to hear... CLANKITTYYYY CLANK ,... CLANK CLANK..... dammit it... looks likes its coming from the bottom end..Jeremy goes and gets my slip.... thats when the celebration started ..
HOLY SHIT 147.10 MPH... WOOOO HOOO ... ALso a NEW PERSONAL BEST OF 10.74.. we were very very happy.. broken engine or not..
After we got home , we drained the oil , and it looked minty fresh. The clankity clank clank, was coming from the torque converter bolts.. The damn things had come loose.
Cliff notes
1) warren is a ricer
2) new personal best of 10.74 @147.10
3) Thought I lost an engine, but just need to tighten the torque converter bolts.
Later folks, and I hope you enjoyed the story.

That is great that it was just the converter bolts.
I'll look forward to seeing you back at the Shootout again this year.
