    Default 1Bad240Z

Well as I have been blessed with all of my skill sets, I have a job that I love and it just happens to pay well. With that being said, I have always wanted a Old School 240z. On one of my work trips home I scouted out the CL and found a guy selling a 1973 240z!! I was very excited because he said it was in great shape and he was the original owner. So I took my truck up to Plano Tx and picked this bad boy up for $900 It ran but the gas tank was a 64Oz Gatorade bottle lol not sure if it would have made the 45min drive back to Midlothian haha.

Inside is not bad but my grandmother does upholstery so she redid the seats back to the factory look for me.

SO that was the car the day I picked it up. It is in Great Shape and well it runs lol. But I am not sure if I want to keep the L24/4Spd I have a 575Whp SR20 sitting on the floor with an RB25 Transmission ready to use.

I decided to have the car fully restored, The painter is pretty damn good at what he does. The body was completely stripped and dipped. it was sprayed inside and out with Zinc-Chromate primer.

As some of you Z fanatics know the back half of the car is just hanging on with a few welds lol so he filled it with led and stitch welded the whole rear.

So the painter is not exactly computer savvy but he is a genius behind the gun. I am awaiting pics of the rest of the build but. I bought a Carbon Fiber Rear Hatch/with Lexan, Carbon fiber fenders, Hood, cowel duct, Removed the hard bumpers and molded the holes. It will have Grey TE-37v's (V= vintage) Rear rivet one over fenders to fit the 12J rims. I will update this as I will be in Texas in July.

Right now I am going to restore it to factory but i have not decided if I am going to use an SR or an L24. I have access to a charter flight that ships vehicles around the world but it cost a grip. I want to bring this one to Japan and slap and RB30 into but I have not decided. I have to many cars here and it would be nice to have one in Texas when I am home to visit or work.

LeGaspardVQ I also thought about slapping a VQ in it as well, but......... Not sure. I got it for a steal ground up restore, spot welded the whole under carriage. I was informed by him today that the Carbon Fiber hood, fenders, Hatch all fit perfectly and all the lines are even. I am hoping he can find his way behind a camera lol to snap some pics. I picked up a lead on carbon fiber doors here in Japan (Rocky auto) So it is something I am considering. The paint will be Shadow Effect grey so I think the carbon and the grey will mix well together.

Cool project! My dad had a 240z back in the day of muscle cars and I've always wanted one to fix up as well. It'll be cool to follow your project. Maybe someday I'll get to pick one up and restore it.
