Default keepin fans on below 70% throtle

I replaced my stock single rad. With a mishimoto slim 14". Now my temps are running higher, but staying under control. I want to either turn the fan on sooner and run longer or keep the fan on all the time under 70% throtle. I have the stock radiator and heat shield over turbo. Also thinkin of making under tray to keep air going thru front mount to radiator. Or make a fan shroud. Dont have money right now for a half sized triple pass mishimoto rad. Question whats the best route and what LS number are the fan controls nder. 91 talon tsi with 30-1300 series 1 EMS.

Turning the fan on sooner would be an easier route. Select Options,Scroll down to Configure Outputs, click Functions, scroll down to Rad Fan and enter the temp you want the fan on/off.

Here is a link for an excellent write up if you want to activate your radiator fan based of TPS: http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde...c,25999.0.html

Thanks guys. I got it working how I want now. Now time to drive a little and see if that did the trick. I will still do a under tray to help keep air in the right direction. My car didnt have the stock one on when I got it.

Ok, I thought I had it but no dice. I have tried every low side and high side drivers and none seem to turn fans on. I went options the configure outputs. Selected rad fan and changed the on and off temp settings and that didnt do anything. I went to outputs and tried every one and nothing. Went thru the full list and couldnt turn them on with anything. Please tell me what I'm missing? I can hear the ems clicking when I select things but nothing happening (fan wise). But the fan is turning on and off normaly, I just cant change the min. on setting and anything happen. The fan is wired into the factory harness. Is there something else controling the fans? I looked on the aem forums looked at the pnp pinout and nothing is working. I'm sure its either something dumb I'm missing. I hit enter for every change I make and save the file to my laptop. It seems to be changing in the ems, i can close out and reopen and the changes I made are still there. They should come right on with the ignition on and my laptop hook-up with me changing on/off settings, right? Help!!! Going nuts I think.

Does anyone know which driver controls the fan? Or why mine does not turn the fan on when I switch it to on in the full list? I have tried all ls drivers.

A few questions:A) Did you change the on/off points in the functions screen or B) wire it according to the link posted? If A) Have you used a jumper wire off the battery to confirm the fan is working and have you checked the factory relay to confirm it is good? If B) You should post a screen shot with the applicable Output table cause we can't see how you set it up.

A)yes. B) I finally got the answer I was after on AEM forums. For some reason I was told with the PNP Ems we dont have control of the rad. fan. So I ran a wire off ls6 to the factory relay-ground side. Now I have control of the fan. So you actually only need some wire and one connector for the ems prong(plug), then splice the other end into the green/black wire under the relay box where the fan relay is. Why add a relay if there is one existing already. Of course this is if you are using factory harness. Thanks for the help.
