Default AEM Ignition Trims(Coolant Retard Table)

I'm having a bit of an issue with my engine temps at idle when the engine is fully warmed up. The engine is running about 10 degrees above the thermostat's max, but only at idle.

The timing is synced correctly, the thermostat is opening(boiled in a pan of water to check),water pump is circulating, compression checks out, leak-down test shows no leakage,no boost leaks, the spark plugs do indicate that the timing may have too much advance but timing at idle is at 10 degrees.

I was curious if any of the AEM tuners out there use the Coolant Retard Table, or would this be a band aid fix for some underlaying problem I may have over looked?

That table has nothing to do with coolant temps being too high. It's used to trim ignition based on engine temp but based on performance/safety.

I appreciate the info David.I was just curious if you use that particular table at all. I must have read through the EFI basics and user guide a thousand or so times and have a pretty firm understanding on how the ignition trims tables add or subtract timing from the main ignition table. The excessive temps at idle was never an issue until it has started to be warmer, so I never used the coolant retard table for any type of correction and it was never setup. I'll have to check the resistance of the coolant temp sensor to make sure it is not on the way out.
