    Default HIGHBOOST and pump gas??

    Any pointers on this?

What do you guys typically take into account when dialing this in?
    IAT?? Knock? AFR??

Im currently at 19psi on 93oct. Datalogs registering 20-21deg adv and 11.1-11.4 @ WOT.
    SC6062 turbo / 8.0:1 CR

Would like to get up to 25psi

Only thing Im not using is a knock sensor. I read too much about them being inconsistent/ unreliable. Im gonna get one but dont want to rely soley on it. Was hoping yall had some pointers.

If you aren't using a knock sensor you better get on a dyno and do some study on how to tune. There is no answer to your questions because every combination is different. 25 psi is not high boost on 93 octane.

I would probably find a dyno like David Said. My last car didn't have a knock sensor, so I had to do this. I just added timing until there were no significant gains in torque. and then took out a degree to be safe. I'm pretty sure you'll stop making torque before you start knocking, but keep an eye on A/F. And on a dyno it's usually pretty easy to hear knock.

Oh I always do my increase on the dyno. On the street I just trim fuel. I have access to a couple mustang dyno's that I use often. I have heard the detonation will cause a decrease in tq. But your saying it'll just stop climbing?

Last time I was on the dyno I got up to 405whp at 21psi and that's where I did notice a stagnation in tq. Up until then tq was always greater than hp. But on that pull it was only 402tq. There was some fuel trimming still needed but the were closing so I had to call it a day. So maybe I was experiencing detonation?? That was with 22deg adv. I'll try 18-20Deg the next time I go.

You need a wideband meter, and a knock sensor. You're asking for a blown engine if you keep "tuning" without.

Unless you're rollin' old school, and are tuning on EGT's. lol

I use a wideband. Thats how I know my afr under WOT. Knock sensor I dont since the stocker sucks. I have one coming that Im gonna try out as a standalone setup.

Your telling me real obvious stuff, I was hoping there were other things that you look at. Like how much IAT to really watch out for or like was said earlier with the tq curve halting.

Living in Texas, how are you going to tune a car without knowing if it's knocking or not? How are you going to know if it's knocking without a knock sensor?

Stock may suck, but it's better than nothing. Are you just gonna lean it out and increase timing until you can physically hear the knock, then back it down a few degrees?

If this is obvious stuff, why don't you do it first, then ask questions?

Your IAT's? Living in Texas, I'd like to assume you have a good intercooler...

Spray some meth at that bish and have a top fuel team look over your engine. just kidding

I dont intend to lean it out, would just like to add a few more psi to the mix and pull a deg or 2 if need be.
