    Default STM Ricer... 2011 Style

This is it. 8's or bust!

The 2011 rebuild is well under way!

Last year was a great run for the Ricer, we had it on the street, took it out to dinner, a few local meets, couple car shows, plenty of trips to Ohio for the IDRC Sport Compact Nationals, 2010 Buschur DSM Shootout, it appeared in D-Sport magazine numerous times and finally ended with it's own spread in the December 2010 Issue.

    780 HP Dyno Runs:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoU2R...layer_embedded

    9.2 1/4 Mile:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcvA9...layer_embedded

And plenty more videos of it in action on STM's You tube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/STMtuned

With a best time of 9.27@156.14, and topping out the dyno graph at 787 HP... I do not have a hard time saying this is one of the most beautiful Evo's alive. Yes, alive.

Since 2005 when we purchased it brand new, this car went from a DSM replacement/dd to what it is today: STM Shop/Show/Drag Evo. Each year sporting a different set-up and different goals. This car is in a constant state of Evolution.

This is the oldest picture I have of it:

I believe I deleted any evidence that it ever had clear taillights! The VII's were the very first mod to this car, done at a Carlisle P&S 2005, in the grass. Couldn't wait.

    I could fill in the blanks from then to now, but I have about 2000+ photos of this car, and not at all ashamed to say I look forward to taking 2000 more! {thumbup}

    There are plenty here:
    http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...m_ricer_09.htm

This is the most recent and detailed mod list I have for it (as listed in the December D-Sport 2010 Issue {thumbup})

Finally got her back on the ground for a bath.

Sometimes I forget how awesome it is. The paint is like glass. No divits or ships or dings. Glass. I really love this car.

It's in there... not 100% but there.

STM would like to thank our newest SPONSOR:

The Ricer will be running FIC's 2150's this year!

    Thanks again FIC!

    Trying out a smaller M&H...

    MUCH better!

Emery has some suspension adjusting to do, but the Volks look much better than the balloons they were on.

And thank you once again to Buschur Racing for helping us out with this new Race Front Mount! (Ricer ran this same core last year too... but I stole it to use on my black car )

Tilton is back from being refreshed!

That's where we are today. The guys are putting in the Tilton now. Transmission is out at TRE getting checked over and I'll keep you updated as more parts roll in! Won't be long now!

    Thanks guys!

I have to admit this is my favorite evo out there right now, no offense to the bad bish but I absolutely love the look/style of this evo over anything else I've seen. Plus the way it's setup and runs! Can't wait to see 8's this year! Good job STM!

The tires were spinning on the rim! We dotted them and marked their location... And sure enough, they spun. Sends the wheel off balance. Emery said it would shake like crazy up top at the track. After drilling then it stopped. so it was worth it.

Thank you for the comments! This year should be crazy for everyone. There's a lot of really awesome cars this year!

Makes sense, I guess. Wouldn't bead-lock wheels be preferred over drilling into the wheels? Do the screws actually go through the bead of the tires? I imagine they do. If so, how well do they hold air?

Sorry for the questions. I worked in a custom wheel/tire shop for a while, and can't fathom drilling into the beads of an expensive set of wheels in lieu of buying proper wheels for the application.

i dont imagine they mount the screws all the way threw the bead...maybe 3/4 at most just to hold them in place

My favorite part of this car...the paint. When you see it in person, the color pops out at you. Props.

Thanks! Dave Buschur once asked Emery what kind of wax I used on it... he replied "All of it!"

Every time I get a new wax, I try it out on the Ricer... and it's always awesome.

About the bead/tire/drilling, I'll have to let Emery answer that.

I must say when I first saw emery's car I really really wanted a Evo because of looks but once I seen video's of Mr buschur's car, stm's car and a local legend ricky @ Top level car run I have been a dsm/Evo since and I got a crazy itch for more and more power!

Keep up the great work guys I cannot wait to take a trip up to your shop this year keep up the good work.

...she needs another bath, though, but finally up on a lift. Maybe we will see some progress soon!
