My 1st big job at Porsche

3 weeks in and they have me doing this.1st engine i have ever pulled and its on my dream car lol.
Looks like so far its dropped a valve on cylinder 6. I will keep this updated with pics. Its a GT3 RS and thats the car in the back! So i am gonna be rebuilding a 40k engine. I guess they really trust my 14 year Volkswagen ass on this 1 lol. It took me 4.5hrs to get it out, the shop forman made me do it by the book, next time i will do it much faster.

Found it, the intake cam adjuster came apart.


Note the all studded engine with Titanium rods and dry sump oil system!


Here is the head damage.


Right now we are doing a cost camparison. A new long block is 39k. To repair it, its arould 17k. With tje car having 2100 miles on Porsche will proly just long block it. Waiting to hear from them next week sometime.

We have another GT3 RS engine out of a car identical to mine just no factory roll cage. Its got straight pipes on it. Clutch broke on it. So i will go with my co worker on his test drive... its gonna sound bad ass at 8500rpm!

Looks like Porsche aint gonna cover anything They say the car was.drivin out of its limits and shouldnt be on a race track? Are you freakin kidding me, its a race car. Steel syncro trans, studded, Ti rods, roll cage, crono timer, factory coilovers ect... Lawyers are getting involved so the job is on hold. It was gonna get towed out and be built even more (no to sure how thats possible lol).

These people that own these cars have nothing but time and money on there hands.

You like my bands lol. Learned that at.the 1st place I worked at when we did old bug engines.
Taking it apart was a bitch.. no joke. The simpliest bolt was a bitch to get out cause something would be in the way. There is a headgasket for the cylinders, 1 for the head itself and another for the VC. Its crazy over engineered!

Wow. And they wouldn't cover it? Sounds like Mitsu! We put a factory roll cage in it but if you take it on the track the warranty is voided! Crazy.

I am 2 miles down the street from summerlin. Its the only Porsche dealer in the city JP. Is Andrew still here? I thought about goin over to Bemmer to see if he was, hes like 2 dealers down the street.
