    Default track wheel/tire setup

So come spring time im lookin to get a track tire setup. anyways for a tire setup i've narrowed it down to 3 choices..

a set of stock VIII wheels with motorcycle slikcks
a set of stock VIII wheels on hoosier drag radials ( heard mixed results)
or a set of FD rims with hoosier QTP's with the ichiba spacers.

lookin to go 10.9x, stock turbo this upcoming season, once thats achieved i'll be doing a black...

what you guys think? im leaning towards the motorcycle slick... how tall are they? reason i ask is because im gonna be still on the stock IX 4th until i do a black..

Quick Time Pros/FD wheels is the best bet out of those 3.

OEM rims w/ MT Slicks are a great way to sixty for cheap. I pulled a 1.37 on them last year.

OEM rims w/ 17" Hoosier DR's are junk IMO. I've tried them once and was not happy.

FD rims w/ QTP's are a great choice. I run a set of QTP's this season and after only 10 passes with them have gotten my sixty down to a 1.44

Hope this helps. I may sell my FD rims I have if interested so let me know.

Can you give an example of the FD rims? Do they clear the stock caliper?

They clear the stock caliper with a 20mm spacer.

Not sure on the weight exactly...the FD wheels are something like 13lbs...yes they are stock FD wheels...not FC.
