    Default camshaft degreeing

Hi, I was just wondering what your guys' experience with timing in camshafts was. I have Kelford 272's and im just about ready to time the car. Kelford sent me specs on the camshafts, but im really wanting to know if its really necessary (I did however order the degreeing kit the other day). The engine is a 2.3l stroker now so idk how if that will change anything. Im sure some of you have experience in this. Thanks

Necessary... probably not, if your happy driving around with your valve timing not being correct, but if you want to optimize your build then do it. You say you have the kit, I presume you have cam gears, then you should go ahead and do it.

When you have a built engine with head and block surfaces machined, after-market head gasket and after-market cams, your valve timing can be out several degrees, obviously it's beneficial to properly degree the cams.
