Default 2011 Rail Build It My Way Thread

Step one was to strip the car completely down to the frame.
    This will accomplish two things.
First thing is to paint a raw unprotected frame from rust.

Second was to completely go through every nut and bolt then rebuild the car, make changes for the good and add some personal touches.

One change is to do a slight battery relocation.
The battery was setting to low in the very rear end of the car, having a hard time getting any jack under the battery to gain access to the rear end to lift it, PITA. I changed the battery bracket, location and configuration so a jack would easily fit under the rear end of the car, brilliant!

Also found a inferior gas pedal base, the metal was so thin it would actually bend as you moved your foot around and applied pressure, so I made a stronger bracket.

    More little improvements to come.

The chassis needs sanded then painted, thats phase one. Its going black.
Set up: Just your basic SBC with a power glide , holley double pumper and a delay box, simple and cheap.

That's the plan, do a little every weekend. Put the little SBC 350 N/A mule motor in it.
    And run it next summer.

Its just a baby push rod motor for god sakes.

Looking good Tom. Should run good too! If I ever did another I'd either do a rail or find an ex-pronstock chassis to start with. Looks like it's gonna be neither though, mew Mustang instead!
