I realise that racing is part luck and that none of them one. Where the donor part comes in is looking at a field with atleast 6 cars that run 8s and my car has a best of 9.4. I would love to go at it with the best as many others would. But alot of us have to scrape together the final money to get our cars and transport vehicles ready along with the general expenses that we just cant hack the extra $200.

I agree with RWD, me along with most people there want to watch the Quick class. Id rather see the best 16 cars out of 50, than the best 8 classes because only 12 were even willing to enter the race.

The shootout as mentions millions of times is about hanging out, seeing friends, and having fun racing. If thats truly the case, why do we need a $3k payout? Personally though id rather see a HUGE field for qualifying than a BIG payout. Fun and enjoying the races mean more to most than the money.

Personally I'd love to put the Quick class back in effect like it was. Now that I think about it further, I changed this to make the race what guys who didn't even bother to come here last year wanted................hmmmm.........looking back on it that seems stupid. I don't care what guys who didn't support me want, I assumed it was the majority instead of the minority.

I'm going to make the Quick class a normal $35 entry fee again. The payouts might suck or maybe a sponsor will want to step up and sponsor the class in 2011.

This year the class obviously dropped down in attendance, that tells me the majority of you'd rather race for "whatever amount" than pay $200 for a possible bigger purse.

The guys who wanted a big buy in donated their money, I don't think any of them made it past first round. So let's change it back.

Very cool, I must admit I was surprised when I found out you changed the rules because of the guys that went to englishtown in 2009. I've known you for a long time, not that we're close or anything but I never took you for a guy who caters to poeple who don't even bother to show up in the first place. Thanks for the change, I'm glad to see its back the way it was.

WOO HOO! Youll see me in the Q16 class next year!

Good decision, next years quick class will probably be one of the biggest ever because there are alot of us who want to run slicks and go for a best time and have fun than want to worry about a HUGE payout.

Im going to the Import faceoff this weekend but thats a $400 payout for the winner but only $30 to get in. I feel the shootout can EASILY out do that in the Quick class with a big turnout and maybe a sponsor for the class.

Default $35 quick class fee=a good show

I like the decision to go back to this format for the quick class. You can't go wrong with it like this IMO. I agree that this will provide some better racing with a full class of the fastest cars on the property driven by people who do it for one main reason... The love of racing! Get ready for the quickest quick class ever for 2011.

    HOLD EVERYTHING!!!

I was informed by the track this morning that the date of next year's shootout is up in the air. They have had to move two events, NHRA National even and the Night Under Fire and it looks like the Night Under Fire is going to take our weekend............I won't have an exact answer until next week on when the Shootout will be held in 2011. This change just happened per NHRA last night.

The event is not being cancelled, just possibly moved to another weekend.

Good thing I didn't book the hotel yet. Are we going back to the days when the Shootout used to be in late June???

No idea right now. I would say no to June though. The reason it is in August now is because people travel from so far, we keep it in the driest month of the year. I'd guess another week in August.

People with kids generally like it to be earlier in August instead of later, as they have kids going back to school. It's hard for them to leave on a Friday and come back late on a Sunday night when their kids have school either Friday or Monday.

For what it is worth, I always liked it in the end of July best! But I am sure it will come down to whenever track has an opening.

Default August 20th-21st Dates are set.

I got the call from the track today for the dates of next years race.

Saturday August 20th we'll be on the Summit/west side of the track for the autocross/car show.

Sunday August 21st we'll be on the Budweiser/east side of the track for the drag race.

There will be NO camping allowed on the Budweiser/pit side of the track this year. Sorry, but the theft from this year has made it impossible for it to be allowed.

The track does have a camp grounds though that are located on the Summit side of the track. It's a pretty large wooded/mowed area and that will be open for camping. I am waiting to find out what the rates are for camping there, showers are available at the track too. I will post that information up when I get it.

Please read over the first post, a lot has changed fairly quickly. I know it's a year away but as you all know, time flies.

All right, sounds good to me. Thanks for letting us know what's up, because yes time does fly. Before we know it, it will be time to head out again. Two days at the track is going to be awesome. Thanks Dave!

No dyno on Saturday or Sunday this year. The track/autocross is the event for Saturday. Anyone wanting to dyno can schedule some pulls on Friday. IF we can find a portable dyno we will have one on Saturday at the track.

I talked to Sr. at BigShotDyno and he knows someone with a portable AWD dyno that is in Ohio. If you want I can look into this more.
