Sounds like all these fucks that say this shit should open there own shops and tune "since they can apparently tune so much better" and then they will see what a pain in the ass it is and how many motors they will be replacing or fixing....DON'T KNOCK THE BUSINESS TILL YOU HAVE ONE BETTER!

There's always going to be haters, someone who isn't happy because they didn't get the number they wanted or didn't get the answer they expected. Customer Service is a bitch and thankless job. I agree with a few of the posts on here about not wanting to waste David's time...thats me to.

The first 2 years I had my evo I honestly didnt know what I was doing or who to see. I had mix-match parts. Nothing ebay, but greddy, hks, turbo xs, and was tuned with meth to 400. Now, I've been slowly replacing parts with buschurs after the engine blew and now I'm looking at finishing everything up next month and finally get David to tune my car. I dont expect it to make 400(would be nice), personally I dont care what it makes...its the new baseline. I trust that he'd tune it safely and will be fun to drive. Do I think he'd tweak the tune a little when I get back home, maybe, I would like to think so...the gas in hawaii isn't as high quality. Well there's my .02

David has been working on these engines 20 years. He knew them inside and out before any of the newer "standalones" ever thought of being put to market for the 4g63. We all used the HKS VPC from the early to late 90's. Had no choice. Aside from making your own harness and using a Haltech Ek6 or derivative. Next up was the ProEFI box, used in the early 2000-2001 era. Then came its morphed child, the AEM EMS. Now look at whats on the market and available. Knowing when David really got going on the AEM and what car he used to teach himself on. I can say he basically taught himself the system. And used all his basic 4g63 knowledge of what the stock ECU used for timing, and what made power in the earlier years. Air fuel as well. It wasn't rocket science. But he knew what worked and what didn't. Yet still to this day no matter how much info is out there and how well you spoon feed people, they still want to deviate from a known recipe. Go figure.

thepoint4life23, what are you asking exactly?

DDP, you forgot one, how about Doug Wallace's system, I can't even think of the name of it, I know you'll remember. CAPTAIN CAVEMAN!!!

It's funny to look back on some of the "tuning". Stock DSM ECU with a TMO chip to remove the rev limiter, HKS VPC with a 660cc injector chip, HKS GCC to FINE TUNE, a single set of 660cc fuel injectors, running on Torco 118 race fuel and a shot of nitrous which was WAY over fueled to make up for the small injectors and what did it net me? 7.81 at 174.8 mph, not bad.

Was that " PMS " system? I remember something called that which ended up being a big piece of garbage. For me it was a VPC/GCC!

PIECE OF MOTHERFUCKING SHIT we called it. I remember maybe 98 at the SO? Doug Wallace armed with the caveman beard and cape running at me in t he pits. Waving a PMS board in his hard. Saying I copied his board and had it in a PMS system. Turns out, now I can't remember his name. BLACK GUY who has a GVR4 he bought new, was living in MI. Had done it. Wallace was replacing boards at the SO with a newer board. DUMB FUCK with the GVR4 has Wallace replace his board with the new one. Then proceeds to say I am the one who copied it and put it in his box. Sure. I can't solder two fucking wires together but I can duplicate an ECU board? Guess we had quality crooks back then too, just of another breed.

Don't laugh Dave. You know I am armed with a VPC, GCC, AFC, ITC, couple of Eprom ECUS and enough chips to make a bag of Doritos with. And plan to test it all on this 94 TSI on the dyno once its running. Logging with an original TMO logger.
