    Default Bone stock tune

I have an '08 GSR that is bone stock. I feel like it has a bit of hesitation at times due to the overly rich stock map. I would like to have buschur tune it for me without any upgrade parts (exhaust, intake, etc). Just dont have the cash for that right now. What exactly would I need for a stock tune and what could I expect to gain from it?

Any help would be great. Seeing as the car is relatively new, I am fearful at this time of voiding the warranty. So the set-up would have to allow me to go back to the stock map if I had to take it to the dealership.

Will the car throw any CEL's by having it tuned???

i know its a bit old, buit have you asked the dealership for the latest flash? when i bought mine i had the same deal, hesitation, weird idle, high rpm stuttering. there is an updated ecu flash for the 08's that cures all those issues, and someone did a back to back dyno and got them like 15 whp. i would do the flash, replace your fuel pump relay with the updated blue one and see if that cures your issues for now.

If you are even Stage 3 mods you should have no CELs after a good tune. The only issue is if you are running a test pipe/hfc, then a O2 code may pop up.

Im having the same problems with weird idling, high rpm stuttering, etc. Im not sure if my car has had the latest tune. Do you guys know where the TSB sticker would be located under the hood if the service has been made already? Also is this a free of charge service meaning i can go to ANY mitsu dealer to get it? I just picked up my car last week and would like to get the latest re-flash.

Also, with the latest tune, would running a K&N drop in filter be ok without a custom tune?

    I really appreciate any advice/help!

A drop in filter would be fine without a tune, i would recommend a tune because the Evo X tunes from the factory are junk you will see 25-30whp gain with no mods added. About the car running weird it could be many things, as in something failed in your car, to a tune problem as in running to rich.

As long as you have a Cat in your car you should not throw any codes, I would definitely get Dave to tune your car, The tune in your car IMO is the most important part. Dave will not steer you wrong, if you have questions im sure he will answer them for you

I got the dealer to reflash my car with the latest reflash and its smoother now. Im dropping in the AFE Dry filter for now with this reflash until i know what i would like to do with the car. A tune is no doubt apart of my plans, its possibly going to be with a cat-back, intake and UICP.

BTW was anyone tried the K&N Intake and UICP kit? Its very similar to the Injen. What do you guys think?
