    Default Turbo size.

After extensive searching of the web, I have pulled up the following information. I found that the EVO IX turbo is not actually a 16G, it is designated 155G6, and it is slightly larger than the big 16G. The EVO X stock turbo 152G6 is slightly smaller than the big 16G... and the ralliart turbo is a tinny little thing, smaller than the stock 1G 5 speed DSM turbo. It is slightly larger than the stock 1G auto tranny DSM turbo, and the stock 2G turbo. The information on the EVO IX and X stock turbo's was found here: http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?p=1952853 and was taken from actual micrometer measurements of the compressor wheels.

Actually your wrong on the model number for the IX turbo. The IX model number is a TD05HR-16G6C-10.5T incase you wanted to know exactly.

Or you can read it for yourself

Nice information Keith, thanks for posting it.

Being as the picture posted is of a BBK turbo, there's not telling what the cover was from, may not be an EVO9, Keith's information is usually accurate.

The information I posted for the EVO IX turbo may or may not have been accurate.... but I did provide a link to my source http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?p=1952853
    for the measurements and:

    http://www.gruppe-s.com/tomei/tomei_evo_turbo.htm

For the designation 155g6... it is near the bottom of the page.

Since the actual measurements with a micrometer of the IX turbo do not match the measurements of a big 16G I would think the designation difference was accurate.

    Later,

    Keith
