Road Race Cages
Are there different requirements, for cages in Drag Racing, as opposed to Road Racing? Are the R/R cages association specific ? What should one look for when researching Road Race cages?

The rule requirements are different with variances related to speed and class. What you will find is as the cars get faster and classes/ driver classification become more advanced the more stringent the cage and safety requirements are. For road racing, first figure out where you will be racing and with what sanction(s). You will then need to read all the rule books for that sanction or sanctions and design your cage around those rules. In the event of overlapping or variations of rules and classes between sanctions for similar classes, contact the sanctions and ask them if the cage is acceptable for the opposing sanction(s). In most cases if you go with the more stringent rules you will be fine for other classes. Just do your research to make sure. I know SCCA for one is very stringent about whats cages are allowed in which classes. You have to remember that it's also a form of chassis stiffening, which is a large factor in road racing.
