Thats just my point...If they would have stayed with the 4g then there would be no time to fix gliches in the motor...You said yourself when the IX came out the 4g was PERFECT, so why change?

why not change? The 4g63 has been around forever.... New car, new technology, why not new engine?

I'd rather drive a slow car fast, rather than a fast car slow.....

    Think about it!

Those factors are likely the reason but from what I've seen the Evo X seems to be very messy in the rich smoke department. I've noticed that even at 12.5 AFR at 15 psi the car tends to have some smoke out the exhausts and tuning WOT for leaner than 11.5 AFR seems to help but not eliminate the smokescreen.

In my experience with an 08 WW Evo X that I have owned since November 09, I have had two instances where I lost power due to 'engineering issues'. The first was when the car idled funny (it hunted for an idle...sounded a bit like camming, but more like a bad IAV) and was running lean with infrequent small misfires. That was due to a spark plug on cylinder #4 that had it's ceramic insulator loose. When I pulled the plug I couldn't see the electrode when holding the plug as it came out the engine. It just couldn't fire properly when the insulator had slid down past the electrode. The other time I had knock and ran real lean was the typical fuel pressure regulator hose pops off the barb on the engine. Once that is back in place, it was fine again. Of course all this is moot as I blew a hole in the back of the motor due to a nice little flood that ran across a road a month ago. Built block in my future maybe?? :-)

My customer who had the near stock X MR and lost an engine. The dealer originally rebuilt the head, which didn't fix anything and the motor fell apart. Much argueing he got a new shortblock, head and turbo. Car didn't make it to his house and grenaded. Have not talked to him in quite some time. He was hoping for a lemon law on the car. Going to find out if they took the car back or not. His was not the only X engine I seen that was little noisey from day one. Last few on the dynp sure had a lot of valvetrain noise for such low miles. Not talking lifter noise either.

Hey guys, pretty noob here and was wondering which fuel pump relay should i get as an upgrade? And how hard it is to install? This isn't a recall i assume?
