To make things simple, i will just cut and paste a letter i sent to Pete Jr. @ DG Motors. This has nothing to do with my part-out binge i went on the last week or so. Some of you (very few) already know of this, now it's time that EVERYONE knows about my DG Motors Experience. Originally, i had an agreement with DG that they were going to pay 100% of the repairs which ended up changing to 50%, which i didn't even get that.
Pete,
Well, I’m not sure what is going on or what has happen to my brand *new* car, but this is getting ridiculous. I have had the car (1) week and it seems as though something new goes wrong every day.
To recap:
1. Friday, when I picked her up, on my way home from your shop, I ran into a situation where the injectors started spraying gas outside the engine and had to be towed 100 miles from home. This was fixed on Monday morning when Pete Sr. and Charlie drove down to my house to check out the problem. According to Pete Sr., you didn’t install the injectors properly which caused seals to break.
2. Later on, on Monday, the air condition unit shifts because (2) bolts are broken and the 3rd fell out, causing the accessory belt to come off. The small job cost me $760: 1st to get a temp fix to hold the AC on by the (2) bolts and put on a new belt and then I had to go back to have the broken bolt extracted from the block and everything re-installed. Why was the AC even touched???
3. On Tuesday, I was cleaning the engine bay from all the coolant that sprayed everywhere due to the car overheating from Monday and came across (3) completely LOOSE head cover bolts see below. After further inspection, even the ones that were not totally loss, still went a 1/4 to 1/2 turn on every bolt.
4. On Wednesday, I decided to take her to the track. Unfortunately, I was never given the "Race Map" I paid for, nor the instructions on how to change the maps. I sent Charlie a txt to see if maybe he could email me the map and walk me through the upload, but he never got back to me. Both the lesson (how-to) and the race map was something I paid for, but did not receive.
5. On Wednesday night, on the ride home, I heard something rattling which sounded like an exhaust rattle under the car. When I popped the hood to make sure it wasn't the AC Conditioner again and found that the downpipe was rattling against the exhaust housing of the turbo. Within another 5 min of driving, the downpipe detached all the way from the turbo and I noticed a little smoke from the turbo housing and figured it was just a little oil burning. I took frequent stops to make sure there was no damage being done.
6. By the time I hit my last stop, there was a descent amount of smoke and when I lifted the hood, the turbo was engulfed inflames and a guy at the service station put it out with a fire extinguisher. Apparently there was some leakage at the oil lines and it got hot enough for flames.
7. On Friday, of the same week, while driving I lost power steering. When I came to a stop, smoke started to poor from the engine bay. This would be the 4th time my engine bay was in flames. The power steering hose was left to lay freely on the downpipe. Eventually the heat burned a hole in the line causing another mess and a nice size fire in the engine bay. This would have been something so easily avoided with a few wire ties.
Again, my brand new Evolution X is falling apart on me, day by day. I am extreme upset and very disappointed. After I spent $5000 in labor alone, this is what I get. I just don’t get it. This doesn't include damage done to the rear bumper while at your shop.
About a week before I dropped my X off to you, we spoke on the phone for over an hour on a Saturday night. You practically begged me to allow DG Motors to do the work on my X. You told me that you got a little offended when I told you in an email what I had been through looking for just the right shop for my install, and "I decided to give you guys a shot" because I never heard of you until ********.
I really thought I was making a good choice and I felt like my X was in good hands, I truly honestly did. You guys had the car for 2, almost 3 extra weeks, if not more which is when everything should be checked. Now I gotta pay someone to go over the $5000 install I just had done by DG Motors.
Last, someone just put to my attention a thread on the forum about another install you guys did to an Evo 8 or 9. I was given the link of his thread and then the thread created by CBRD. This is very very interesting stuff. I will be in contact with CBRD to see if they would like to fix this mess as well. I need to know what kind of refund i will be seeing from you before i decide whether or not to tell them who did the work. As of now, i will not be posting anything about the work you have performed.

There you have it, my REAL experience with DG Motors...
