    Thumbs up STM EVO VIII-IX Intake Pipe (MAF)

    I had just purchased the STM Intake Pipe for my Evo VIII for use with factory MAF. I didn't expect anything less than perfect from an STM product.

    Link to product: http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...e_pipe_maf.htm

    Piece is made of aluminum and comes polished, nice and light. Welds are awesome (TIG welded of course)

    Installation was very easy, structure of the pipe is much like the factory pipe so it fits perfect. Comes with a nice k&n filter for the valve cover, no more dumping of vapors and oil back into the intake. Install time was about 20 minutes.

    Upon start up, car idled perfect like before, no CELs or anything. Cruise is nice and smooth like it should be. The turbo spools noticeably faster opposed to the stock intake. Power has noticeably increased throughout the powerband from when boost hits all the way to redline. Turbo spool is also much louder.

    My car is still on the factory boost level running the factory boost control solenoid. My cars only mods are:

    3" Turbo XS turbo back catless exhaust
    AMS FMIC
    k&N air filter

    Of course with more air flow and boost, you will notice even bigger gains. Overall, this is an awesome product. On top of the that, STM's customer service is A+ and beyond.

    Me = one happy customer.

    I saw the intake pipe at STM. It's a beautifully constructed piece that went through quite a bit of testing before being put on the market. Em let me drive an Evo equipped with the intake. It didn't make too much noise, at least not as much as I expected. Honestly, its aural accompaniment was kind of fun. Obviously, I had no way to gauge its effectiveness, power-wise, from the drive, but the stack of dynographs at STM clearly point at quantifiable gains. I may get one, myself.

    (PS. I just posted the same text to the review on EvoM)
