Throw another one in there and get it done!

Sucks to hear, seems like it's always something at times. I'm crossing my fingers for a good trip down and a couple good passes.

Funny thing is scots car is curently sitting with no turbo. waiting the arrival of a package in the mail today. Haha and yea it wouldve been super close last year. he had my intercooler piping on his car and when i was taking it off of my non running dsm at the time the t-bolt clamp broke so thats why he didnt have a good one and the coupler blew right off the j-pipe.

Scott's car is further along this year then last still haha! Heard he got the turbo yesterday though, knowing him he'll be clicking off a low 11 on the first pass and be in the 10's before the end of qualifying. He might even surprise me further. I've got my money on him to win it provided he doesn't have more mechanical failures.

Class seemed like a total success to me! I personally had a lot of fun, even getting eliminated in the first round. I ran a PB with a 12.55 @ 110 on the lil 14b. Had some horrible launches though, spinning pretty bad, cruddy tires didn't like it today. I didn't count the number of cars but we had a good showing. Can't wait for next year!

I agree, the class had a pretty good turnout! I don't think I counted but the lane was definately pretty much full. Although I was having a hell of a time getting the 60fts dialed in (best was a 1.6x ) I did manage to have a best mph of 130 and best et of 11.2. Congrats to the winner, fucker can drive man haha! Hopefully this class will be around again next year!

I had a day from hell. Inexperience was some of it. Missed second gear 2times Chrome polished shift knob and an extremely sweaty hand equaled bad news for me. The one pass where i raced johnathans FWD the clutch slipped the whole way down the track making a nice smoke cloud that im sure everyone saw a laughed about. When i actually got to make a pass it went 12.0 at 115 with a 1.9 60ft haha. Best launch of the day was my last pass. Treed the heck out of the red stm (got Corn) 1g. But missed 2nd and he blew right past me. Oh well im happy i got it there made some passes and drove it home. Thanks Dave for the class again and all the support. Cant wait till next year

Thanks for coming out guys. I have already been working on the 19th Annual Shootout information and the new thread is up. I have kept this class for next year, no pre-registration required. Keep in mind though, we need cars in the class to keep the class. For those of you that made it this year, thank you. Please bring some friends next year and I hope to see the class stay atleast as large as it was this year. As long as it does, we'll keep it around.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

I always wondered how other dedicated race cars with no interior that run 9s on huge turbos end up being "sick" or "badass" but my car is almost always referred to as a tin can. Weird.

You and Curt are the my main influences for the way I've built my car. I think its pretty amazing to run a 9 or 10 and then when people see a 16g they shit there pants! Do you still have the racecar and any plans to bring it back out?

I sold it to a local about 6 months ago.

I appreciate you using the term "racecar".

Sad to hear you sold the old race car! Good to see you on a forum though. This would've been the perfect class for you. Nobody calling them tincans this year that I heard!

A big thanks again to David for taking our suggestions and letting us run it! I know I'll be in it again next year and a couple of the folks I talked to agreed to the same, plus a couple others who had some issues preventing them from doing it this year.

Thanx for letting the class roll Dave! Even though I lost in the first round lol 12.7 on 93 and no meth isn't too bad right? lmao May not be running the class next year, I've got a Holset that has been sitting on the work bench for a year now... I think she itching for some runs lol But I am going to definately get some of our local 16g guys running, hopefully they will last longer than I did

killer class! I got nothing against big turbos, they got plenty of love! I just think the lil guys are Waay overlooked. But thats my opinion. I had the best race of my life! Lost to a red 1g that went 10.9 and I went 11.2 we damn near crossed the line at same time. I was actually kinda pissy before hand because i was hot and just wanted to race. That had me so pumped. I couldnt have asked for a better race. I thought it was gonna go longer tiil I went Full kill but just didnt get the chance. And that was my fault. this class HAS to get bigger. yeah we may not be the fastest cars there but i think we can be the most entertaining, cause that was a pretty close field, and guys were backing it up.

Not to mention that these are fast cars! Obviously not all of us were that fast but we had several cars in the low 11's and one in the 10.9's! Next year I bet we see a couple in the 10's and even more in the 11's. There are eliminator class cars with larger setups that don't do as well

Cmon guy I went 10.97 LOL that makes 2 haha! I feel ya. Thats what im saying. I dont think it takes alot, and these turbos are overlooked. granted im jealous when I see 141 MPH traps but see 11.2 or 11.3 and I think I like the quick spool low et and mph. But its all preference. Not sure if I will make this class next year or not though. really want to spray the motor down.

I wasnt pulling my usual 60fts so I suffered accordingly. the 1.4x and low 1.5s were non existant kept pulling high 1.5 and low 1.6 I know I was having touble finding the sweet spot for tire pressure.

Thanks Buddy! Im just busting balls! No biggie. I was hoping for better, I just made a few dumb choices and forgot how to drive or I would have liked to make a better showing. Im just glad to help others see there is some potential in this class. Not like Joe Bucci didnt do that many moons ago! But I think there was a mystique that you needed tricks and secrets.
