The ACT clutch in the car for over 20K miles had had it's abuse. After some newly recent found power it had started to slip. Even before then the shifting wasn't very smooth nor quick. The car wasn't fun to drive anymore at times as boost just caused the rpm's to climb but go now here when in a higher gear. Frankly, it was an embarrassment at times. I couldn't wait once it had started to cause issues and wanted to immediately fix it. Slipping clutches suck!
Insert Exedy twin disk clutch. Coupled with STM clutch fork to prevent the clutch fork clip from popping out. The only way to correct a clip that has popped out is to pull the transmission.
This piece is designed to stop the clip on your clutch from popping out due to hard shifting. It is an extremely common and irritating problem for anyone that has a multi-Plate clutch.
- Made of Billet aluminum
- Includes two Grade 8 zinc plated bolts for further adjustability
- Saves you lots of time and money pulling your tranny out because of hard/fast shifts
- Installs in minutes
- Fits Evo VIII-IX
I immediately noticed a HUGE difference once I got in the car. The engagement is spot on, the clutch feels so smooth, the transmission clicks extremely easily into each gear, unlike before - very notchy and almost as if the car was fighting against me at times for it to go into gear. I am still breaking in the clutch and getting used to it, but I like it - it feels like an Evo again.
A great product at an amazing price with excellent customer service. Marti pointed out to me a few things that needed to be addressed on the car that was noticed while it was on the lift. Some minor issues that I will take care of soon. Marti called me once I got home to ensure everything was good. Ensuring everything was right. Any issues I had, he was more than willing to assist, even offering to bring the car back in once it's broken in to help adjust it offering left and right to help in any way!
If you are looking to do anything to you car, after now having had experience with the shop, give them a shot. I did and I was impressed.
Thank you Marti for all of your help!
