When i wax my car i have a few select areas, side mirrors and door handles mostly where i notice im getting red in my wax. Ive heard rumors of Mitsubishi Evos Rally Red not having a clear coat but it seems to me it does but thats besides the point. Ive tried several different waxes and im out of ideas, the paint doesnt just rub off on my hands or come off when i wash it so im left to assume the wax causes it?? Any suggestions?

yup the red evo's do not have clear, in this case you can polish and wax too much. you will remove paint. not much can do but keep it waxed.

I think it's because he has a 03 VIII with single-stage paint. Basically, same as you. If it were my car, I'd touch the paint as little as possible and use the most durable (protective) LSP I could find: 1000P, KSG, DG601/105, #16.

I was just saying that all RRs aren't single-stage. I know for sure that RR IXs have a clear. 03-04s are single-stage, and I'm not sure about 05s.

I have not hand waxed my car since my original post but i opened my wax and got out the applicator to show you the red that was inside. Since then i go to local car wash and do the rinse wax spot free ect...it never looks good and it leaves like whitish streaks. Im almost to the point of getting repainted just because nothing i do seems to make this car shine plz help!

Scott, go here, post on a board appropriate to your area, and hire an (Autopian) pro to polish your paint. You can watch, ask questions, and learn how to maintain the finish thereafter.

yup for sure you have no clear coat on your car, you may want to go with a polish then glaze then wax.

but you may also want to find a pro to look at it, pictures of your car in direct sunlight might give us a better idea.

I would recommend picking up a pc kit with the proper pads and polishes.

    you would want to

    1. wash
    2. clay
    3. polish
    4. seal or wax.

I have got a BMP r32, and seems like every time it rains I get pend, hard. It seems like I need to pay big money now to getting a problem to help me get out these etched in water spots; so far I have tried vinegar and polishing with my DAMP but neither have made any positive difference.
