Default Buschur Racing build, FP Black, EVO9, pump and race gas.

Just finished up a customers EVO9. The owner of the car, Eric, is in the military, thank you for serving!

    Here is the build:

    BR Stage 3, 2 liter
    BR Stage 3, head
    Cosworth M2's
    BR double pumper
    PTE 1000 cc injectors
BR 2.5" upper and lower i/c pipes
    BR ported exhaust manifold
    BR SS 02 housing
    BR 3" turbo back
    AEM EMS
93 octane for the pump gas tuning
C16 for the race gas tuning
    BR lightweight battery kit
    BR ported intake manifold
    BR 65 mm throttle body
    BR coil on plug ignition
    BR race FMIC
    FP Black turbo
    BR dual stage boost controller

This car has one of the better power/torque curves (overall) that I've seen on the Black. I'm really happy with the outcome. Some of the other cars I've seen, and tuned, have fallen off pretty good over 7000 rpm. That's not the case with this one.

The peak boost on pump gas was 30.6 psi and the Black will maintain 28.73 psi at 7500 rpm where the graph stops, pretty nice flat boost.

Here is the dyno sheet on pump gas only:

I was happy with the power on just the 93 in the tank the car came here with. I was concerned though that I wouldn't make a lot more on the race gas tune. The concern disapeard quickly. The C16 was added to the tank, the boost was turned up to a peak of 41.30 psi and had fallen off to 38.08 by 7500 rpm. The boost continues to fall and by 7900 rpm is down to 35.79 psi.

Here is the dyno sheet on race gas:

This will put this full weight EVO9 into the low 10's, for reference Chris's car with this same power on slicks ran 10.1 at 137 mph.

    straight nasty!

this WILL be my turbo of choice.
it almost looks like the power is still climbing past 7500!

i remember seeing in JohnBradley's FP black thread that one of his customers switched from the m3 cams to GSC S2's and gained 25whp.. i wonder if that would be the case here?

also, any pics of the car David?

I can snap some pictures of it. It's just a plain stock EVO9, stock wheels too. How about an engine bay shot?

Strong numbers! These stock appearing turbos have really come a long way from just a few years ago. I can't wait til my first chance next year to reel in something really expensive and modded on the track and then claim "just intake and exhaust" in the pits afterward

Hell yes these turbos have come a long way! It's incredible.

The car is not an RS, standard EVO9. Full weight car.

WOW. 460 on pump gas? Holy smokes!!! I know a guy running a HTA Green and E85 making that much.

David, What factors allowed you to get the boost to 30+psi on pump? Is the Turbo itself all that was required or was it a combination of all the parts?

Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!! Nice work David and Dan. This is exactly what I was looking for! I can't wait to get back from Florida to pick it up. As always, THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT WORK. Believe me when I tell you that you have a customer for life. Your service and customer support is the best, bar none! Were there any issues tuning the car? I know that the last time it was up there, it was bucking on the dyno quite a bit. I thought it may be the Exedy twin or a fuel issue, but wasn't sure. I was very careful about picking the 93 pump to take up there. I got it at Exxon. It was more expensive, but I know their 93 isn't watered down.

Glad you found the post Eric! Yes, actually there were some issues.........I was having a hell of a time with the car and couldn't figure it out. I don't know who did it or how it happened by the accel fuel max was set to 398 percent, as soon as I found it the car started working correctly. It should have been about 80%. The 02 sensor is also burned up, we need to drop on in it before you come and get the car, so wait for a call from Dan before you come up. We just need to get it on the lift. Other than that, the car was excellent. I even found some gains in the MIVEC over the previous map that was in it.

I'll tell you something else, 31 psi on the 93 octane fuel really wasn't even pushing it. I just quit because I have no balls to go any further. When I hit the 450 mark I was worried that going to race gas wouldn't make 500. The first pull was 512, I about crapped myself. I think you are going to be very happy with the car. Shoot me an email and I'll send you both the pump gas and race gas maps. The car has 5 gallons of C16 in it now, so when you get it you will feel the full power. Just run the gas down a bit and then stop and put your pump gas map in, flip the boost control switch down and you'll be good.

Thanks for letting us build the car for you, our pleasure.

To answer the question about the 30 psi on pump gas. It's really not that difficult but does require a very good combination of parts. The right front mount, the right air filter/turbo inlet, the right exhaust from the turbine housing to the muffler. From there it is a matter of tuning and after building a BUNCH of 500+whp pump gas EVO's it's not much of a challenge. This car was actually exciting because it's the first Black I've done on pump gas.

    .

Hmmm...not sure why it was set that high. I wonder how much couldve been squeezed out of the FP Green if that would have been right before. Oh well, it's badass now! I'll be waiting for Dan's call. Sucks...this is the 3rd O2 sensor I've had to replace.

You'll have an email on the way for the maps. Again, thank you very much for the excellent work. I'm VERY pleased.

Nice...I figured it was your car Eric. You'll have to do some hustling down in Middletown with that thing! It's only a stock turbo!!
