    Default 96420007 to 96420008 was a no go

    Well in hopes to take advantage of the NLTS, Valet and CEL mods I made the transition from my original 96420007 to the pre-patched 96420008. Copy and pasted EVERY parameter and it fired up and idled smoothly. Im thinking allright! Tested the valet and the CEL mods, all ok. Went for a drive and it runs like shit and I barely made it back up my driveway. WTF..Why? Everything is done right. I think, LOL

    I would guess based on what you have given for information there is some parameter in there that didn't get cut and pasted. Maybe it is not visible to you based on your XML file you are using to view it. That side of the community is expanding ever-so-fast and in order to use a new rom you have to make sure that you have the full XML file that the developer of that rom used to make it. Other wise you run a risk of having fueling/timing and other parameters they changed that you can't even see.

    Yea its the growing pains of it all. The gurus release this stuff then expect us dumb asses to be as smart as them! Thing is I cant stand when I cant do something, Ha

    Why not run 9630706? If you want send me both rom's and I'll look over everything to make sure you didn't miss anything key.

    What year is that from? When you switch Roms like this does it have to be retuned?

    I went from 96420008 to 94170015 with out any trouble. There has to be something thats not copy and pasted over or isnt scaled the same. Im sure it will be an easy fix. it just tasks alot fo time to triple check everything

    Umm not sure exactly I believe its an 05 EDM rom that is the universal rom for tephra mods on the VIII's. And no it shouldn't. The only thing you need to do when you switch to that one is adjust the BISS.
