Well nobody makes offroad pipes for the Shelby/4.6 with a Ford Racing X pipe..............so I did. I put them on tonight to test fit and they came out killer. The car is louder without cats on it but it sounds great, I think it's just what I was looking for. Anyone interested, 304 mandrel bent SS offroad pipes for use with the Ford Racing X pipe, we have them now, $350 for the pair.

    Buschur Racing getting into Fords?

    Say it ain't so!

I'll tell my buddy out West that you're making parts. He had a handful of BR parts on his old Talon.

Just a very limited number of parts. I wanted light rotors so we had Giro build them. I needed off road pipes for the Ford X pipe, so we built that. I'm not going nuts in the market.

Yes, the new Shelby GT350 is one sexy piece of machine. I'd LOVE to buy one but at about $65,000 I can't do it. Just too much money for me.

I got the out a few weeks ago to drive it. The sound is just plain awesome. DEAD quiet at any cruise speed but when you open the throttle at all it sounds great.

I brought the car in to dyno it today and see if I've gained any power. Sometime a car that's louder just feels faster and I was hoping that wasn't the case.

The dyno results don't lie though!

With the addition of the ported and coated manifold and the new BR offroad pipes the car picked up 35 ft lbs of torque and 20 whp. The gains were from 2500 to 5800+ rpm.

I really couldn't be much happier with the results. The car ran great already and this should easily bump the car into the 11's even with me driving it!

Here's the dyno sheet of before and after:

David, Those are good gains from exhaust work. I am new to this Mustang world so sorry for the simple question, Do you know if your Shelby came with standard 4.6 mustang exhaust manifolds or if they were unique to Shelby?

    David,

Do you remember what the weight was on your Shelby GT before adding the supercharger? I wanted to do a little bit of "keyboard racing" to see if your stock shelby gt would loose in a race to the 2011's 5.0 liter. If I remember correctly, your Shelby GT was one of the lightest Mustangs produced.

The car is not a GT500 speedysam..........

No, I don't know the weight of the car Quinn, my car would for sure lose to the new 5 liter, no doubt about it. The new 5 liter is up 100 hp from my car.

    Update.

Took the car put to the track, Norwalk, on a whim, was suppose to just be a drive with my wife and daughter. First pass in the gate ran 11.91! I made one more to back to up and ran a 12.0, the factory clutch is slipping now. I told myself if the car ran 11's I wasn't going to race it anymore, so I'm sticking to my word.

I put four new tires on it, pulled the drag radials off and cleaned it up. It's covered up for the winter in the garage. I'm really happy with the car, best mph ended up being 120.66.

As I improve on the SCT software I intend to get the car back on the dyno and see if it can't make a few more whp and maybe work on some other things like the drive by wire. I'll put a clutch in it maybe if we get slow over the winter. If I run it again with a new tune in it I'd do it on a really good tire just to see what it's really got. I have to think with a really good driver in it 11.40's wouldn't be too hard.
