Nice looking ride! Congrats Mark!
I just realized I never posted this up on here. So, here is my post from about a month ago or so![]()
Big thanks to everyone at STM for being so good to me! This car has become a monster this year!
So, nothing has changed on my car since last time I ran an 11.90 @ 120.4 other than putting on ARP wheel studs on all 4 corners, putting a set of Meagan Racing coilovers on all 4 corners, and then using a set of 15" Rota Slipstreams with 26 x 9.5" Hoosier Quick Time Pro tires. Here is the car as it sat before going to the track tonight:
Stock block, stock head, stock fuel rail/regulator, stock intake manifold, stock throttlebody.
Evo 9 turbo, AEM EMS, car weighs ~ 2850 without me in it tonight as it was (full interior).
I was running 100 octane pump gas, about 28 psi of boost, and 22 psi in all 4 tires.
First pass I cut a 1.608, and went 11.434 @ 121.88. I did a good burnout for this pass, and the launch was so hard it totally threw me off. I was not expecting it to feel like that!
Second pass I cut a 1.507 60'!! I ran a 11.256 @ 122.26. That burnout was more like most-wanted's famous burnouts, where I went totally sideways. The crowd was loving it! I feel that I drove really well tonight.
Here is a picture of the time slips for now, and then as soon as Gleason @ STM and Shawna @ STM get their video's and photos up, I will add those to the post

Very nice looking!!! Just 1 question though.. Why megan coilovers, i did some research on them and found them out to be one of the heaviest coilover on the market.. Have you thought about going to a D2? If i am correct their almost 15-20lbs lighter.. Mike at awd runs them and loves them.. Anywho nice ride once again
Keeping Mitsubishi in business since 2003..
Thanks Jarrod.
I put together the car and it's a solid setup that is dialed in very well. I have the driver mod. I have an EXCELLENT tune from STM.
Next, I can see you guys about a motor![]()

The Megan Coilovers saved 40 pounds over stock, so they can't be too heavy! They work very well too, as shown by the 1.507 60'. I have nothing but good to say about them.Originally Posted by yellowevo42

Nice job! Curious what your weight reductions are. I'm at 2950lb without driver. But I have a sunroof too so that could be the difference.

I have a sunroof too. My major weight reductions are:
no bumper supports - 40 pounds?
lightweight brake kit front and rear - 70 pounds
megan coilovers - 40 pounds
wheels/tires - 50 pounds
Followed by tons and tons of other weight reduction all over the car. Exhaust, egr/evap canister, heat shields, bolts, brackets, etc... Lots of stuff can be found and pulled off!

Pretty much all the same stuff I have done minus the small brakes.

Absolutely get the brakes! It is a lot of weight in all of the right places!!
The only problem is that you lose your ebrake, so if you launch off the brake, it makes it more difficult. I don't, so it's only a minor inconvenience for me in parking lots, but I can deal with it.
I would start with the front brakes, since you save more weight and you still keep your ebrake. The rears are actually pretty difficult to do, since you have to pull the hub off.
