    Default Shootout Camping -

    With limited Shootout Camping info I figured I would make this thread.
    Ive stayed at the hotels and most of the campgrounds in the area. The best option IMHO is Milan travel park. Its central between Cedar Point and Norwalk. (10-15 min to either) There are normaly alot of DSM'ers @ this one.
    Of course there are also showers&power (this isnt an option @ the track)

    Campground's Website -
    http://travelpark.staycolonial.com/index.html
    looks like rates will be..
    Camping = $24
    w/ electric = $29
    Cabin = $75
    Park Model = $99 (ive stayed in this before..there better then a hotel IMHO)

    Ive also stayed @ Lazy J's
    http://www.lazy-j.com/cms/
    They were big on Rules and are a bit farther from the action but still cheeper then a hotel.

    There is also the option to camp @ the Track if you are fine with sleeping on Asphalt/no fire rings/wake up to V8's@ 8am

    We stayed at the track this year. It wasn't bad at all and will probably do it again next year. There were about 15 of us and when we had enough to drink we went the 10' to our tents with air mattresses. Then we got up at about 6:30...cooked breakfast, cleaned up and got the cars ready, then were already at the track without having to wait in that line at the gates.

    I've stayed there the past 4 years for both races. Its a nice place for the price. I think this year was the most packed I've seen it.

    There is power at the track, they have 110 outlets, and even 50 amp outlets for RV's. We stayed in an RV at the track this year and it was great. Didn't have to run the generator all weekend.

    Also, it says that showers are 3 bucks, but I can't verify if they are open, because we used the shower in the RV.

    We stayed at the track as well.. can't beat it. We paid 15 bux for two nights... we got there after 12:00am on Friday night (sat. morning). We paid 3 bux for a shower, but nobody was there to take the ticket, so we just used it for Sunday morning too!

    All in all, tough to beat camping right there at the track.

    We did it a couple years back and it was a blast. Brought the grille and a cooler full of brew. I definitely want to do it again.

    I've been thinking on camping also. Probably will if they have an autocross.
