Yeah i'm still very unclear on which path to take. I have my crank polished and balanced and pistons, no rods yet. But sadly i have to go back to iraq soon for like the millionth time so i'll have time to think about what to do.

I would give more thought to a 2.0.

I've been told that some people have seen rocking horse poo and hens teeth but have yet to see them for real so IMHO 2.3 @ 10000 RPMS and reliable is in the same category

I could rev a stock motor to 10k too, don't think it will last very long though.

NO WAY! About 8.5K would be the limit for a 2.3 or even a 2.4 engine and thats pushing it. Thats why im looking into a 2.1 destroke and only going 9.5K even tho they are made to take alot more.

I got a phone call from Ron last night. The car is almost done. We are waiting on a few small items like some silicon couplers etc. The fuel sump is done, radiator hoses are done etc. I will be bringing it home soon. Over the winter I am going to run the fuel lines, have some parts coated, hook up the ignition etc. In the spring I will be taking it to Buschur for the tuning.

The car is freaking fantastic, aweseome find. That car could very well be the first on I owned too! I bought my first DSM new in November of 1989 it looked exactly like that one. I then got another, which is the famous one, in 1991 when I ordered one with no power options, RS style!

Anyway, great find, great build and I am looking forward to tuning it.

I have to tell you though, as much as I hate to. For the power that car is capable of producing the shortblock as good as it is, may not be what you need. The original goal of 550 hp it was killer for, now from the looks of things are going to have 1,000 hp potential and a different shortblock should be considered, sorry but it's better to give you a heads up.
