    Default Evo X FMIC Installation

The Buschur Racing, Race FMIC kit for the EVO X is complete!

The Race FMIC kit we have done and finalized for the EVO X will be the only one you need. We were not happy with a whimpy core that was good for only 750 whp. We wanted to do the biggest intercooler we could without any major cutting or deleting of any components, we have done that. The core we are using is 18"x12"x4.5" and will support 1,000 hp.

I really want to eliminate the process we went through on the EVO 8-9's which was making 3 different style FMIC's and then having customers wanting to upgrade to something larger later.

The new FMIC will bolt in to the stock upper and lower i/c pipes and our upper and lower i/c pipe kits. No modifications needed for any of the plumbing.

Are there modifications needed to make it fit? Yes. Very simple though. On the back side of the factory aluminum bumper support there is a thin metal bracket that is riveted to the bumper support. Two rivets need to be drilled out and then the bracket needs to be cut off, a small dremel tool will work. Here is a picture of the cut that needs to be made:

This is the picture of the bracket stock on the car, uncut:

This is a picture of the bracket after the two rivets were drilled and the metal was trimmed:

Also, there are 8 bolts per side on the bumper that hold it on. 4 of these bolts will be eliminated and a flat 3/8" spacer is installed between the aluminum bumper and the steel bracket that holds it. Here is a picture of that:

There are 4 of these bolts on the bumper support, two on top, two on bottom, they are left off after the install. This is just to show which ones are not re-used:

This is the aluminum spacer that is installed between the aluminum bumper beam and steel bracket:

This is the aluminum spacer installed where it goes:

Now here are pictures of the actual FMIC on the car:

Default Buschur Racing Manual Boost Controller Instructions

    BUSCHUR RACING

    Inline Manual Boost Controller Instructions

Thank you for purchasing the Buschur Racing Inline Manual Boost Controller. We have put together these instruction to ease the installation of your new part. This should take about 20 minutes to install.

Your new boost controller will arrive to you preset from Buschur Racing approximately at the lowest boost setting possible. It will be close to the preset pressure on your wastegate spring.

In order to increase your boost the boost controller would be turned clockwise. Of course if you want to lower the boost it would be counter clockwise.

WARNING: If the adjustment knob is backed out to far the boost controller will come apart. If this does happen be sure the ceramic ball bearing and spring have not fallen out.

If you have any questions or concerns you can reach Buschur Racing Monday-Friday 9a.m.–6p.m. EST at 440-839-1900.

    Thank you,
    Buschur Racing

    *PLEASE NOTE*
Buschur Racing asks that you do NOT disassemble this boost controller. If you do important parts may be lost or something inside may be messed up. NO lubrication is needed inside other than what is already in there when it leaves the shop here. Thank you for reading this.

Default BR EVOX T3 turbo kit

    1. Remove the entire old turbo assembly. This includes the MAF pipe from the turbo to the MAF, downpipe, 02 housing, oil feed, oil return and coolant lines, everything related to or attached to the stock turbo/exhaust manifold has to be removed.

    2. Install the new oil return line to the block. Install only the hard pipe portion at this time.

    3. Install the oil feed fitting in the block and the braided stainless oil feed line to that, route it up and out of the way along the passenger side strut tower for now.

    4. Place the turbo and turbine housing in the car and let it rest on the cross member. Place the turbine housing pointing towards the passenger side of the car.

    5. Install the header, you will only need to install 4 bolt to hold it to the head for now.

    6. Bolt the turbo to the header, you can use just two bolts for now to put it in place. After the turbo is in place you will clock the bearing housing to line up the oil return line and the compressor housing and outlet elbow to line up with your upper i/c pipe. Once you have them clocked in the proper location snug the bearing housing/compressor cover bolts down. Tighten the oil return flange to the turbo, place your oil return line hose on the turbo outlet and the previously installed oil return line at the block. Tighten the clamps down.

    7. Install the remaining nuts to tighten the header to the head and install all four allen head bolts to hold the turbo to the header.

    8. Install the oil feed fitting to the top of the turbo and connect the previously installed oil feed line to the turbo.

    9. If you are using the water lines you will use the new water feed line and re-use the same shaped line from your stock turbo to feed water to your turbo. The kit comes with hose and clamps to go from these two steel lines to the feed/return ports on the car, you will need to cut the hose to length.

    10. Install the turbo blanket. Simply push in in place and then the best thing to use is safety wire and safety wire pliers. Realizing not everyone has that you can use any type of wire you may have handy and once wrapped around the blanket through the eyelets simply twist it snug with any pliers you may have.

    11. Install the MAF pipe from the turbo to the MAF. The kit is designed to work with the Buschur Racing filter kit and factory EVO X BOV. A short piece of the factory BOV return hose will need to be cut to attach the BOV to the new MAF pipe.

    12. Attach the turbo outlet elbow to the turbo and your upper i/c pipe.

    13. Install the down pipe. The downpipe is installed from the top and fed down to the exhaust. When in place put the V-band clamp on and just snug it to the turbo. Go under the car, put the downpipe flange to your cat or offroad pipe and tighten it down, put the 02 sensor in the downpipe and tighten it down. Return to the turbo and tighten the downpipe Vband clamp.

    14. Install the wastgate to the header, do not tighten the clamp, just put it on tight enough to hold it in the proper position. Install the dumptube to the wastegate next. You will see there is a nice sized hole the wastegate dumps through in the axle, subframe/transfer case area. Center the dump tube in that area and then tighten both wastegate clamps down TIGHT.

    15. The elbow on the outlet of the turbo is your boost source, run that to your boost controller.

    16. The vent on the side of the valve cover runs to the large barbed fitting in the MAF/Turbo inlet pipe.

    17. Install the header heat shield, this mounts to the two strut tower mounting holes.

    18. Start the car and checked for leaks.

    19. Enjoy the excellent spool up and power you are about to experience!!!

IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL TO ENSURE YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE DOWNPIPE BLANKET, TURBINE HOUSING BLANKET AND THE HEADER HEAT SHIELD. DO NOT RUN THE CAR WITHOUT THESE PIECES IN PLACE!!!!
