Hey Guys, we made some shirts for the shootout. We make dick on these so I am not really spamming them, I just thought they were funny and some of you might enjoy them (hopefully Dave)

I started today putting together the details for the event with the track.

I sent the trophy list over and started breaking down the classes. This year will go down in history as having by far the largest payout of all time.

$14,500 in cash and prizes this year. That's a pretty heafty payout considering a $35 entry fee.

Spread the word, let's make this year the largest ever dispite the ignorance going on at Englishtown.

I can imagine this being the largest event to date. I usually bring 2-3 people with me this year we will have around 10. I just hope the weather holds out.

Would a 1g be alright to run a 2g mas and have an open element air filter and still be in the DSA class or would either of those parts put you in DSE? Open element air filters look to be ok for the ESA class.

The rules are posted on page one. Just go buy the rules and how they read and you will be golden. If the car does not meet the rules then it has to move to another class.

    Default Big Update

#1. In the past we've done some small parties/get togethers at my house. This was a big thing to be involved in with a lot of people and I got away from doing it in the past. This year for the first time in about 10 years I am once again going to do a night time get together that is open for anyone who wants to stop out. This will be done at our shop on Saturday night. We'll have a small fire here in the parking lot to hang out around, I'll supply some hotdogs to roast over the fire, buns/mustard/ketchup/chips and soft drinks. You are welcome to bring your own beer or alcohol here IF YOU ARE OVER 21 YEARS OLD. There will be a police roaming around from time to time so keep that in mind. It's just a chance to hang out, talk, tell some stories and relax. I will NOT supply any alcohol as much as I'd like to, liability is just too high. Keep in mind I am sure the local police will be looking very hard to arrest someone for DUI, so use your brains and if you drink don't drive.

Next we have the class payouts all settled and I want to list them.

Man I really hope I can still make this. The economy is such a downer, I didn't work the last two weeks and I dont even know what its looking like right now. Hell I might not even have to ask for two days off much less worry about a job to come back till.

There have been so many events this year I wanted to goto but this one is the only one I really cared about going to. Im going to really try my hardest to make it cause I know it will be the best thing I've done all year!

So I guess its obvious that if the EVO's and DSM's dyno together "stock appearing" the EVO's are gonna win....

Prolly wont be to many DSM dynoing with stock appearing turbos anyway.

Also with the B1 B2 clutches... Wouldnt it be more fitting the stg1 clutch go to b2, seeing how thats a slower class... And the stg2 clutch to b1?

Obviously I read the rules since i quoted them. I was just looking for clarification since you lump 3 different cars into the same class (1g, 2g and Galant) that are allowed to swap some parts between them and open element filters are ok in the other 2 stock appearing classes(ESA and SAX have no rule against it) as well as being ok for speed density in that class. That way I know im going by the rules. There isnt a rule against it though. As it reads, I guess I would be legal to take out my headlight(no written rule) and make an air box(no written rule) that draws cold air to the open element filter because it wouldnt be an open filter anymore. I think this would look less than stock appearing, but fit into the rules as they are written.

Im pretty sure that wouldnt fly though, so thanks for not answering my question. Ill just put the stock 1g mas back on with the stock air can so its actually stock instead of stock appearing.

is sure in the hell isnt stock to a 1g. With that great logic a FMIC from a EVO should be fine on a 1g/2g because its a OEM part?

I've seen cars in DSA with their headlite popped out... And WTF fmic's are allowed anyway......

Common sense tells me that if Maf-T's are allowed, 2g mas's are... Just keep your hood closed, if your unsure....

Below is the cut and pasted rules for DSA from Page 1. FMIC's are allowed. Keep your headlights in because I think it looks like the car is from the ghetto with one popped up. Yes, you can put the 2g maf on the car based on what the rules say below as long as the mods are done neatly I am letting it slide.

To be honest, this class is the smallest participation and the biggest pain in the ass. I was going to cancel it last year but kept it, then once again make it PITA for this year too. Maybe this year will finally be the end of the class. It's filled with more questions than any other class and has 3 guys in the class. Makes no sense.

-Heads up class. Pro Tree. LANE 1
-Any 1990-1999 Talon, Eclipse, Laser or Galant VR4
-Full interior required. Full exhaust required. NO nitrous. DOT RADIAL TIRE ONLY. NO tread wear rating limits.
-FMIC's OK but must fit without any visable cutting of the front fascia, i/c pipes allowed with FMIC's. NO external wastegates. NO sheetmetal intakes. NO air to water intercoolers. Stock location headers OK. COP ignition OK. Any BOV allowed. Sheetmetal 02 housings and external wastegate dumps OK. Turbos must remain stock appearing except for the 2g DSM which can upgrade to the TD05H apearing turbos. No aftermarket fuel pressure regulators. No aftermarket fuel rails. Stock fuel filter and fuel lines. No visible alcohol injection bottles. Power steering and A/C delete is OK but it has to be done NICELY. No half radiators.
-Open element air filter OK for speed density conversions but must be done neatly and retain stock position of air filter.
-All participants in this class will qualify, time trial and race from lane #1.
-On your windshield you will put in large print DSA followed by the number from your tech card.

meaning it has to look like it came from the factory, minus the few exceptions of the FMIC plumbing and BOV, whichever MAS you chose to run,ex manifold now, and o2 housing. The rest must "appear" to be factory original. It cant be that hard to comprehend

Obviously it is seeings how you just contradicted your self. "look like it came from the factory minus blah blah" Then its NOT stock appearing. If you have a J-pipe on a 2g.. guess what? NOT STOCK appearing. GM MASS ? NOT Stock.. wrong color injector tops ? NOT STOCK appearing. Air box missing/hacked? Not Stock. I could go on and on..

Thats what i mean by its a matter of opinion. While all that crap to most people may look stock, your average DSM'r will know its not stock.
