-Saturday, August 15th. 9am-5 pm. Open house, dyno shootout and car show held at Buschur Racing in Wakeman, Ohio. Don't miss this, it is a huge turn out and great time.

***Change for 2009's dyno competition. There will be TWO classes this year. One for Stock Appearing Turbo's DSM/EVO and another for NON Stock Appearing Turbo's DSM/EVO. Also there will no longer be any FWD/RWD cars dyno'd during the competition. NO nitrous is allowed to be used during dyno runs.

-Sunday, August 16th. Gates open at Norwalk Raceway park at 9 am. Track closes at 5 pm

-Quick 16 qualifying at 10 am, 12 pm.

Cars NOT powered by a 4G63 MUST run in either Bracket 1 or Bracket 2.
-All vehicles competing in the drag racing at this event are required to have a MINIMUM of 3" of ground clearance from the front fascia to 12" behind the wheel. CLASS SPONSORS. Always interested in having new sponsors on board. Each class is $1000 to sponsor. This gets your name on the trophies, announcements throughout the day about your business, your company display in with vendor status and 5 people. Saturday at our open house a limited size display can be put up at our open house. Your display space is unlimited on Sunday at the track.

**The plaques that will be awarded at the shootout are all MADE IN THE USA. Doesn't seem like a big deal but trying to find trophies/plaques made in the USA, wasn't easy to do.

**Payouts are based on the attendance of the race as they are every year. In 2007 we paid out $6600 in cash to the class winners on top of prizes from sponsors and trophies.

    UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!

#1. In the past we've done some small parties/get togethers at my house. This was a big thing to be involved in with a lot of people and I got away from doing it in the past. This year for the first time in about 10 years I am once again going to do a night time get together that is open for anyone who wants to stop out. This will be done at our shop on Saturday night. We'll have a small fire here in the parking lot to hang out around, I'll supply some hotdogs to roast over the fire, buns/mustard/ketchup/chips and soft drinks. You are welcome to bring your own beer or alcohol here IF YOU ARE OVER 21 YEARS OLD. There will be a police roaming around from time to time so keep that in mind. It's just a chance to hang out, talk, tell some stories and relax. I will NOT supply any alcohol as much as I'd like to, liability is just too high. Keep in mind I am sure the local police will be looking very hard to arrest someone for DUI, so use your brains and if you drink don't drive.

Next we have the class payouts all settled and I want to list them.

You leave me no choice but to run next year since I have a year to get ready. Hopefully I have your and 9sec9's projects finished by then . Seriously, I did have a blast at the Dyno Day. See you this weekend at Columbus. It will be the first time in six years I have made a pass. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I think next weekend all the stuff in the cabinet is going on. vwjeff said he would come down for the day to help with the install. September 27-28 is the Maxton Mile and at least I will have some Buschur Stage 4 insurance to bump the record. The Import Face Off is in Indy and I guess I need to do that one also, so the season is not over yet. Thanks again, I will be at the next shootout and this time I will be racing. Indy

I was thinking and maybe this is a dumb idea, certainly not something I want part of but... would it be possibly to have some type of burnout competition for those people that just cannot resist doing burn outs in the hotel parking lot. Maybe give them a place at the track to do their burn outs? I hate when people do it at the hotel, because all I can think is that asshole could be by my car and if anything happens to my car I am going to have to kill them and my arrest is going to cut into my drinking time.

Cant wait to make room reservations.

I had an idea for this upcoming years shootout. Having a dedicated thread for people who are in search of parts while at the shootout. They could leave a brief description of the part(s) there in need of and a immediate contact for them. I know for some it would help out a lot.

bville187, now that's the positive talkin' I like to hear!! See you in Columbus this weekend.

As for the burnout contest, I have absolutely ZERO interest in doing anything like that.

It is my belief that organized Sport Compact racing has died simply because the people who were putting the races on did not know what they were doing. People go to the race track to watch racing, see their hero's, see what vendors have to offer, buy parts, meet with old friends and make new ones.

Burn out contests make racers wait in long lines in very hot fire proof suits and since I have been there many times I can tell you it sucks. Bikinin contests, jello pits, Xbox racing, some dude singing so loud nobody can talk are all things that I don't feel belong at the track. From the looks of NOPI and NHRA's Sport Compact Series I have been right for a long time about this.

My events are about racing and the other things I mentioned above. I am not going to have someone sweating his ass off waiting in line to make a pass for some clown to blow a tire in a burn out box.

As for the parts trading for the shootout, what exactly do you want? Something live for people to search during the race or a list of things they want before they make the drive?

I am open to suggestions, just don't be offended if I shoot them down.

    Dave,

I was just thinking of a thread where people can post up their parts needs while at the shootout. I figure it'd benefit those looking for parts and those who are bringing parts to sell. I think it'd be a great way for the shops as well to keep an eye on as there might be a product needed that they can offer to someone in a pinch.

Also wanted to add in my last post above. I agree with Dave's insight about the burnout competition. It was a HOT SOB out there Sunday. There is no way in hell i'd swet my balls off to watch someone waste their tires...
