    Default Initial drag strip testing..........

Well the tracks are finally open and we took the car out to D42 tonight.

    Here is what is done:

    2008 EVO X
    3568 pounds with driver

    BR 3" Catback
    BR offroad pipe
    BR manual boost controller
    BR MAF pipe
    BR filter kit
    BR Upper i/c pipe
    BR lower i/c pipe
Ported exhaust manifold and turbine housing
    STOCK unported 02 housing
    STOCK downpipe
    STOCK fuel pump
    STOCK tires/wheels
    STOCK TUNE
    KW Coil overs
    Robi Spec alignment
93 octane gas only, ever, NO race gas or octane boosters have EVER been in the tank of this car
23 psi of boost maximum as that is where the factory fuel cut hits

Best ET was a 12.70 flat
    Best MPH was 111.40 mph

Remember, NO tuning so we are dealing with 9:1 AFR's, fuel cut limiter etc.

We finally have tuning software so I expect these numbers to improve drastically within the next few weeks.

The clutch is weak. First run it slipped like mad. Trent was driving and ended up getting a 1.79 sixty foot time out of it which was the 12.70 pass.

Considering the weight of the car and the lack of tuning, the MPH is pretty darn good.

    This is a decent start.

No, we were not the first in the 12's with the car. Track wasn't open soon enough here to pull that off. TT went a 12.51 with some race gas in the car, ACT clutch and way to bypass the fuel cut and a bunch of other stuff done, MPH was a 107 mph on the 12.51 run and 109 on another 12.54 run. There's a video up.

Maybe we are just destined to hold MPH records and not ET records! haha

Good to see its on the track. I know Vishnu isnt the best name in the Evo market, but have you guys seen the video online with this little black box that they claim to gain 71whp.. Or something like that. Just by plugging this box in!!!

Have you done anything with the ECU yet?

We had no tuning at all done, bone stock ECU, no piggyback, no fuel cut defencer's, nothing. Just what was listed above.

Vishnu's product very well could raise the power 70 whp. He controls boost through the tuning software he has. The car has 23 peak and falls to about 12 psi. Keeping the boost closer to 23 across the board alone would gain 70 hp up top.

When you installed your MBC, didnt it stableize the boost across the powerband.

Yes, adding the MBC stabilized our boost but it is seperate from the tuning. If you tune a car and turn up the boost with the same software you can then make some HUGE claims for gains in HP/TQ but most of it is simply an increase from the boost.
