Default Buschur Racing, Race FMIC for the EVO X

The Buschur Racing, Race FMIC kit for the EVO X is complete!

The Race FMIC kit we have done and finalized for the EVO X will be the only one you need. We were not happy with a whimpy core that was good for only 750 whp. We wanted to do the biggest intercooler we could without any major cutting or deleting of any components, we have done that. The core we are using is 18"x12"x4.5" and will support 1,000 hp.

I really want to eliminate the process we went through on the EVO 8-9's which was making 3 different style FMIC's and then having customers wanting to upgrade to something larger later.

The new FMIC will bolt in to the stock upper and lower i/c pipes and our upper and lower i/c pipe kits. No modifications needed for any of the plumbing.

Are there modifications needed to make it fit? Yes. Very simple though. On the back side of the factory aluminum bumper support there is a thin metal bracket that is riveted to the bumper support. Two rivets need to be drilled out and then the bracket needs to be cut off, a small dremel tool will work. Here is a picture of the cut that needs to be made:

This is the picture of the bracket stock on the car, uncut:

This is a picture of the bracket after the two rivets were drilled and the metal was trimmed:

Also, there are 8 bolts per side on the bumper that hold it on. 4 of these bolts will be eliminated and a flat 3/8" spacer is installed between the aluminum bumper and the steel bracket that holds it. Here is a picture of that:

There are 4 of these bolts on the bumper support, two on top, two on bottom, they are left off after the install. This is just to show which ones are not re-used:

This is the aluminum spacer that is installed between the aluminum bumper beam and steel bracket:
