    Default My rpm's fluctuated and my car died?

    Yo!!!

    I dont know what happened now, but like i said above, the rpm's wiggle around a little bit, and my car stalled. I turned the key and it restarted. But after 10 miles, it happened again. Only this time it wouldn't restart.

    The car is over my brothers house about 20 mins away. I havent done anything other than look around and check all my connectors, as i waited for my tow.

    I was just cruising home from work in traffic, no boostin, well maybe a little...

    I guess the obvious stuff is ok. Like fuel, air, compression. But i"m thinking its spark related. I have an extra cas, and the little silver thing on the firewall, and have already tried another ecu. I need to find a transistor, but i'll take one off a friends car just to test it.

    I'm guessing the problem has to do with what goin on with the tach.. But who knows, the damn fuel pump could have died for all I know..

    If anyone has experianced this before, maybe chime in, or even if you have an idea, throw it out there.. Its much appreciated, thanks.

    With a DSMer's luck it won't be just because nothing comes this easy but check the alternator fuse. Wierd shit happens when they blow. It's worth a shot since you have been working on the car a lot lately and you prob didn't un-hook the battery everytime.

    Do you have a blow off valve that vents to the atmosphere?
    This can be several things.Don't just go replacing parts without actually troubleshooting the problem.See,for times like this it's nice to have an like a decent Fluke meter.Something that will do continuity,ohms,volt.See,now you need to check the Amperage coming out of that batt.The volts must be atleast at 9.6v or it's junk,but even if you have a fully charged batt,and you have no amps.Well,it can cause the car to stall.You may have a wire somewhere that has been frayed,or only connected by a few thin strands and not the entire wire.There are a few possibilities.Well,actually,thats like the hardest problem to troubleshoot over the phone or over the computer."My car stalls out.".Hahaha,that narrows it down to only about 100,000 possibilies,lol.But anyway,I'd start with that.Before you waste money on parts you don't need.
    Also,if you can check the batt. cells with a hydrometer.I know,I know.Your thinking you already know it's the alt. or the batt. or whatever.But this is how you actually can tell what it is without buying the parts first.

    Got it. It was the 12v supply to cop. I knew it was dumb. If it wasnt dark when it happened , i would've seen it. Oh well, could have been worse.

    God bless you man.I wish I only had to deal with stuff like that.Most of the time I'm breaking shit.Thats even worse because than I know exactly what the cause is.Me!
